Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1956 Austin Healey 100-4 BN2 (incomplete & not running) Condition: This car is in moderate condition. The paint is ok to good showing a few paint cracks and chips on the doors and a few unnoticable scratches over the rest of the car. There is no top for this car. The tires are completly dry-rotted and will only hold air for a few minutes. The custom made wheels are in good condition, but i am missing one chrome ring. The interior is in good condition except for a few spots where some mice got to it. The frame has only some minor surface rust but is in generally good condition with no cracks or major rust problems. The gauges have all been replaced with SW gauges but the tachometer is broken. All of the chrome work was rechromed during the original restoration but is now showing some surface imperfections. The drivetrain is missing the transmission and driveshaft. The original 4 cyl engine was replaced with a Ford 289 V8 and i no longer have the original engine. The 289 engine is complete but needs a rebuild, to the best of my knowledge this is a custom high performance engine. Most of the engine accessories ar also missing. I have no idea what the original miles are. Please refer to the pictures to see the parts i still have. Features: The body color is redish orange with black interior. Custom 289 Engine. History: This car was purchased in 1984 and custom restored using a V8, then partially disassembled in 1985 for engine repairs. The repairs were never completed and the car has been in storage for past 25 years. During this time many parts have been lost... Shipping and Payment: All inspections must take place before the end of the auction. The buyer is responsable for vehicle pickup or shipping. All sales are final. On Jul-22-10 at 10:46:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: While trying to answer some bidder questions I stumbled upon a matching ID plate. It looks like all of the black ink has faded away but the stamp is intact. I have added the picture.
