1999 Ford Escort ZX2 "Cool Coupe" We purchased this sporty little car in Oct of 2008 for fuel economy purposes. At that time, it had just over 166xxx miles on it, and we drove it for approximately 1 year, adding another 7xxx miles to it. It has always been a local car, and we are the 3rd owners. When we bought it, it had just had a new motor installed, and we were told that it had only about 30xxx miles on it. It has served us well, we just don't need it anymore. These cars are surprisingly quick and fun to drive; it has the 2.0 L Zetec DOHC engine, which is rated at 130 hp and gets an average of over 30 mpg. It has a 4-speed automatic transmission. It is a dark metallic green with a tan cloth interior. The interior is in very good original condition; the exterior is typical for it's age and still very presentable. There are a couple of cracks in the windshield (visible in pics) that were there when we bought it and have not changed. No rust through, but there are a few scratches and dings, and there is a little spot of fading/surface rust on top above one door. All in all, it looks really good for an 11 year old car. What it needs: (1) New Tires (2) New Battery (3) New Front Brake Pads (4) New Tie Rod Ends. The cars has not been on the road since last winter; since it had become the "spare" vehicle, I did not replace these items at the time and have now decided to sell it. It still starts right up with a good battery or jump, and once these items are taken care of it should be good for many more miles.
