This is a 2000 Ford Expedition XLT 4 wheel drive with 144,000 miles. It is a 1 owner truck that still looks pretty good for it's age and mileage. The exterior is Cayman Green Metallic and free of major body damage. There is a scratch approx 15" long on the right passenger door and of course the typical dings associated with high milage vehicles. Our detail shop did buff up the paint, so there is a good reflection to the finish. The prior owner did add some custom touches in the form of aftermarket headlamps, grille and euro style tail lamps. These addiions are a subjective issue, you may or may not like them.
The huge interior features 3 rows of graphite cloth seating. There are a pair of buckets up front and two bench seats. The 2nd row folds, 3rd row folds and is removeable. All the power assists are in working order including the dual front and rear air conditioning. The 2nd row seat has two splits in the fabric along the seam. This should be an easy fix if you are handy with a sewing kit or just let an upholstery shop handle the repair.
The power to move this big Ford is provided by a 5.4 V8 engine. It has plenty of pulling power to move that camper or boat down to your favorite fishing hole or camp site. The engine starts right up and runs smooth. The prior owner also added an aftermarket cold air intake system and exhaust, so there is some extra power and a throaty rumble. The transmission and transfer case are both in good working order. Four wheel drive is controlled by a dash mounted switch.
All four tires are matching Goodyear Wranglers mounted on the factory aluminum rims. The tires are all worn to 5/32", with some uneven wear. There is one center cap missing.
We ran this Expedition through our shop for a safety check and service and our tech uncovered a few issues. The wipers would not shut down, AC was blowing warm, front and rear shocks are worn and there is a wheel vibration at highway speeds. We changed the wiper switch, evacuated and recharged the air conditioning system and changed the oil/filter. We did not address the worn shocks or vibration. The vibration is likely due to the tires or perhaps there is a wheel out of balance. Our tech checked the fluids and road tested the truck. The a/c is now blowing cold, but there could be a slow leak in the system requiring repairs in the future.
We do have the owner's booklets and 1 key with remote.
This is an inexpensive 4 x 4 that is practical for summer trips and will keep you going when the snow flies. Look over the photos..a lot of truck for under $3000.
