Vehicle Detail
I had to re-list because Ebay showed that my car previously had a salvage title in CT in 2002 and 2005 in FL.... (FYI - I don't show this on the titles that I've had in IN or MO, and I've not seen any evidence of repair/rebuild, but based upon the record, this is what the title used to reflect in those previous states. Also, the current MO title is not a salvage title and is free and clear.) Up for sale is my 1998 Audi A4 2.8L Quattro with Manual Transmission. This car is fully loaded with all power options, including power locks, windows, mirrors and moonroof. It has a newer Sony CD/MP3 player with remote, along with Infinity speakers and rear-mounted Infinity 4-channel amp. The climate control works great and the a/c system blows ice cold! The black paint with matching black Enkei wheels is eye-catching and this A4 has the performance to match. In addition, the interior is super clean and the leather interior is virtually flawless, except for a scratch in the driver's seat (see pictures). I bought this car from a private seller about 3 1/2 years ago, and have only put about 17k miles on it since I've had it. I mainly use it now in the winter, as it works miracles in the snow and ice that we get here in the Midwest! The Kelly Blue Book Value for a private-party sale (in only "fair" condition) is $4835, and that's without all of the goodies that you will get with this A4. Yes, my loss is going to be someone else's gain. You won't be disappointed. Overall, the engine runs very strong, and there are a few extra "goodies" that help in this area, as well (smile). Installed to enhance performance is a K&N direct air intake, aftermarket "halo" headlamps, GIAC chip and Supersprint exhaust . The power from the 2.8L V6 is evident already and these modifications help even more! The rear tires have less than 3k miles on them, and the fronts have less than 13k miles and still have about 80% of their tread. Indeed, this is one of the cleanest A4's that you'll see on Ebay, and definitely one of the best values out there. Well, here's what you'll get: Standard Features on this '98 A4 Quattro include: Bucket Seats Center Console Fog Lights Power Heated Mirrors Lighted Entry System Locking Differential Power Brakes Rear Window Defroster 2.8L V6 DOHC 30V FI Engine Premium Unleaded Fuel Required 5-Speed Manual Transmission Tachometer 4-Wheel ABS Driver and Passenger Front Airbags Front Side Airbags Anti-Theft Alarm System Cruise Control Power Steering Remote Trunk Release Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel Leather Steering Wheel Trim Air Conditioning Automatic Climate Control Intermittent Windshield Wipers Power Windows 190HP 2.8L V6 engine Power Door Locks Full-time AWD Optional Features include: Keyless Entry System Leather Seating Aftermarket "Halo" Headlamps Power Moonroof Sport Seats Premium CD Player and audio system Sport Suspension "Audi" badged seat belt shoulder pads All-weather hexagon floormats Trip Computer LLTek Motorsports molded floormats Sport Steering Wheel Performance Modifications include: Supersprint Performance Exhaust (+10-15hp) GIAC Engine Performance Chip (+20-30hp) 18" Enkei aftermarket wheels (stock 16" wheels included as well) K&N Direct air intake Mechanical / Cosmetic Issues: Obviously, with this car being on the road for 13 years, there are some imperfections which keep it from being mint. I have done my best to list them below. For starters, the paint is in good shape but there are some paint chips, nicks and scratches due to normal wear and tear. The plastic body molding normally on the doors has been removed, but as you can see, the car maintains the clean lines that A4s are known for. As I mentioned above, the interior is in really good shape, except for a scratch in the leather on the driver's seat. The front windshield is cracked and will eventually need to be replaced. (There are some on Ebay right now for about $200). I do not have an electronic key fob for the door locks, but the key does control the door locks and anti-theft system when manually locking and unlocking the doors. The fuel gauge recently stopped working, but the rest of the gauges (including speedometer, odometer, etc.) work fine. Mechanically, the engine runs strong, but the "Check Engine" light is on due to an O2 sensor. I don't think it's extremely expensive to repair, but I don't currently have the time to take it in to have it fixed. In addition, I knew that I was selling the car and I have adjusted the price of the car to capture this flaw. In addition, the "ABS" light is on. I believe there is something wrong with the ABS sensor, as the brakes have worked fine since I've owned the car. I have driven this car consistently in the harsh Midwest winters, including snow and ice, and my A4 has never let me down. The sure-footing of the Quattro all-wheel-drive system delivers excellent performance in all climates. Payment Options / Additional Information: As I mentioned above, my loss can be your gain. My reserve is set way below the Kelly Blue Book value for an A4 in "fair" condition, and even the buy-it-now price is a huge discount. I have also listed this vehicle locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please feel free to email me with any questions that I can answer for you. The car is located in the Kansas City, MO area so please consider that when bidding, so that you can factor in your shipping costs if needed. I am not arranging shipping for potential buyers, but I am willing to work with you to deliver the car to a local shipper should you need that. Either way, shipping costs will be the buyer's responsibility. I have title in hand and am ready to go! (Please see above for information on any title discrepancies.) Upon the close of auction, the winning bidder must submit a PayPal deposit of at least $350 within 24 hours of auction end. The remaining balance is due within 6 additional days (7 days of auction close) and can be paid via PayPal, bank to bank transfer or cashier's check. Please only bid if you intend to purchase. If you have a feedback rating less than +3, please contact me prior to bidding. As I stated, please contact me with me any questions or concerns prior to bidding, as I am more than willing to handle any inquiries you may have. Check my feedback rating; I have a long positive history on Ebay, and I have done my best to accurately capture this A4 and all of its features (both good and bad). Good luck and Happy Bidding! On Jul-16-10 at 19:22:45 PDT, seller added the following information:I received some of the same questions from a number of potential buyers, so I thought I'd respond.... Some of the side molding came off over time and there was one piece that I removed, myself. It's the molding at the bottom of the door. As far as the title issues, I had no idea that it had a previous salvage title when I purchased the car. In fact, I didn't find out until I listed the car on Ebay and the title check on Ebay surfaced it. When I purchased the car initially, and then titled it in Indiana, and subsequently MO, the title showed no evidence of a salvage history of any kind. I initially bought the car through a seller on Ebay and at that time, there were no known title issues on the car. Needless to say, it was a surprise to me, and I have no additional information. As far as the mileage "discrepancy," the only thing I can say is that to my knowledge, the mileage is true and accurate and there haven't been any issues since I've had the car (I bought the car in '07). Right now, the MO title says the vehicle is "exempt" from reporting mileage so it doesn't list the mileage, although I show 118k miles. The ABS and check engine light have been on since I purchased the car in 2007. I don't know if this is good or bad, but when I bought the car, I knew both lights were on. It's driven fine since I bought it though, so I wasn't really in a big hurry to spend $$$ to fix either of these things. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for looking.
