You are bidding on a 2005 Mazda 6S. I bought this car from Regency Motors in upstate NY on an ebay auction in 2007 and have driven the car as a daily driver ever since. The ebay "auto chek" feature generates a lot of flags for this vehicle and makes it sound a lot worse than it is. The car was repossessed from the original owner and subsequently sold at auction, first to Regency Motors, and then to me. When the car was auctioned, it was listed as "actual mileage unknown." Undoubtedly this is because the odometer mileage of 9800 mi was suspiciously low (the tire wear, for example, showed more wear than would be expected for 9800 mi). Since I purchased the car, the odometer has gone from 9800 mi to 69K mi (current odometer reading). I added 20K miles to the odometer reading and listed the car at 89K mi to try to reflect the car's actual mileage. This car was in an accident, but it is very difficult to determine how serious the collision damage was. I can say that the only existing damage I have seen on the car is a small dent on the door frame in the vicinity of the door jamb. Also, I took the car to a reputable auto body shop after purchasing it to inspect it for preexisting damage for automobile insurance purposes and no damage was found. I still have a copy of the original inspection report. This vehicle has been the lowest maintenance car I have ever owned. The only required maintenance work has been Mobil One (exclusively) oil changes and new battery, tires, brakes, and rotors. I have never had a mechanical problem of any sort with this car in the three years I have owned it. All of the following have been completely reliable and trouble-free: motor, transmission, motor accessories and drivebelt system, fuel delivery system, brake system, cooling system, exhaust, electrical system, climate control system (including a/c), cruise control, and emissions control system. This car does have a number of minor flaws, which are listed as follows: - as previously mentioned, the car was in an accident (and repaired) before I purchased it. The auto body shop that painted the car did a mediocre job repainting the car. When you look closely at the paint, you can see fish eyes (dimples) on the roof panel between the rear driver´s side door and the rear window. - the airbag light has been on ever since I bought the car. - the bumpers have minor chips and scratches, the only noticeable scratch is on the rear bumper near the driver´s side exhaust. - rust developed on the black door frame around the driver´s side window. The rust was wire brushed and treated with Permatex rust treatment. This is the only spot on the vehicle where I have noticed any rust. - the driver´s side front tire is mismatched brand (Bridgestone Potenza vs. Fuzion on the other three). The tires have very little wear and show no evidence whatsoever (from the time of purchase to today) of wheel misalignment. - poor fit of driver´s side side-view mirror (trim sticks out a bit from the corner of the window). - outer edges of rims are rough from abrasion from parallel parking. - several LEDs on the dash clock function intermittently. - front sway bar bushing squeaks in the winter when driving over bumps (this can be eliminated by lubricating the bushing with silicone). - missing trim in the following areas: top of steering column (small rectangular piece missing), covers for front door courtesy lights are missing, and a plastic cover for a circular access opening in the rear driver´s side door well is missing. - one of the wheel locks was lost during a tire purchase and replaced with a conventional lug nut. I have tried to describe every single flaw on this vehicle as honestly and thoroughly as possible. The car is available for inspection by appointment in Alexandria, VA. Good luck bidding!
