Vehicle Detail
Sadly, I must sell my 23 T project. If you are looking to build a T Bucket, this will give you a HUGE headstart both in labor and $$$$. I have worked on this on and off for a couple of years, taking my time and doing it right. My main goal in building this over buying a completed car was to make it sit low and also have the driver and passenger sit low in the car. I can't stand the looks of the high goofy looking t buckets with the passengers practically sitting on top of the body and a foot of space under the car. This car is designed from the ground up to look low and fast and to be low and fast. The body is channeled over the frame, and the floor sits directly on the frame so the frame is not visable under the body. This lowers the body by 3". This is not an easy task and took many many hours to complete. The frame actually fits tightly in slots that are moulded to the body and floor. This allows the body and the passenges to sit lower to give it the RIGHT look! The Floor is made of 1/2" marine plywood which is glassed in and fullt encapsulated with Epoxy and fiberglass. The custom trans and driveshaft tunnel is made of heavy fiberglass and Epoxy. The Body has had a lot of extra reinforcing by me with glass and Epoxy as well. The drivers foot well has been expanded and custom molded as well, for more foot room which leaves room for a cluth pedal if you want to run a stick shift. (Very rare in a T because of lack of foot room) The Body is from speedway and has the molded in dash and opening passenger door. You would need to hinge and hang the door. The frame is built from 1-1/2" x 3 x .120 wall box tubing and is built to handle about anything. Most of the welding is done and it was professionally tig welded. The rear suspension is built to take anything you can throw at it. It is a fully adjustable 4 link suspension with 1" diameter 4 link bars and urethane bushings for use on the street or strip. The rear end is a custom professionally narrowed Ford 8.8 with 31 spline axles, Posi, 3.73 gears and disc brakes. A lot of guys just buy a rearend at the junk yard and slap it in with a buggy spring and some hairpins to locate it. They end up being too wide and off center and it looks like crap. This is done right, just like a drag car. Speaking of springs, This has coilover shocks in the rear and the shocks and mounts are included. The springs are not, because they should be bought at the end, when you know how much the car weighs, so you can get the right spring and ride height. You will see in the rear photo, some PVC pipe. This is put in the place where the springs go so the car can be built at the correct ride height. The rear suspension is complete and fully assembled in "mock up". All the engineering is done. Now to the front. There are no engine or trans mounts yet, which means you can choose your power plant. Also the frame has been left extra long so you can choose your wheel base and overall look. I am including the following front suspension pieces: 2" heavy duty round axle with a 5" drop. Speedway Ford 1928-1948 style spindles with fitted kingpins and bearings. These spindles will accomodate about any type of brakes and hubs that you choose. Also included are Batwing brackets for a front hairpin or 4 link, Shock mounts with headlight mounts.(See photo) You can decide on your front end configuration. I was going to run a single leaf spring behind the axle with a suicide spring perch to keep it low. Also included, If you want them, are the rear tires and wheels for mock up and moving it around as well as the set of 4 Weld Racelite wheels shown in the photos. These are some nice looking and light wheels!! They are highly polished aluminum and come with the chrome valve stems and Chrome lug nuts. The weld Wheels were specifically purchased for this car and look and fit awesome. You will need to choose and buy your own tires. Everything shown in the photos is included. My starting price does not even cover the labor for the body mods. It would be hard to duplicate this package for under $5000+ Local pickup is preferred but this could be shipped truck freight on 3 pallets. I can arrange shipping if necessary for the actual cost. It would probably range from around $400-$600 depending on location. This could only be shipped to the 48 states, unless you want to make your own arrangements. See my other auctions. I am selling all kinds of hot rod stuff. You might see a few things you could use to complete this car!!
