Vehicle Detail
Well, here goes. Here is your chance to own a true piece of automotive history. I have a collection of Audis from the 1970s and 1980s...the cars I have wanted since I was very young. Having read about them in automotive books and magazines, I always wanted an Audi 100 Coupe' S. I bought this one expecting I would have to sell one of our other cars to make room, but we have many memories and a great deal of personal history with the other cars and are having a hard time parting with any of them. I am absolutely crazy about this car, but if someone is willing to pay a fair price, it will go to a new home so that the others may stay. The 100 Coupe' S was not sold in the U.S. and this is one of five here in the country. The previous owner had always promised me first shot at it if he ever decided to sell. He imported it from Belgium seven years ago. Since then it has received a full, high quality paint job, all suspension components were replaced, and the exhaust was replaced with new OEM parts. The engine received a comprehensive rebuild (peeking into the oil cap reveals clean, new internals) including valves, guides, bearings, piston rings, etc. and new engine mounts. All new clutch components were installed. The car features a dual carburetor intake manifold fitted with two Weber carburetors. The Coupe' S features four piston calipers in the front and large, vented rotors. The entire brake system was redone including calipers rebuild by White Post Restorations. The car rolls on brand new Pirelli tires. The only work I have done is to rebuild an axle with a new boot and grease, repack the wheel bearings, change the engine and gearbox oil, and a little detailing. The car looks and drives great. The paint is gorgeous and the chrome is in great shape. The interior is excellent. The suspension is tight and handles well. The car won "Best Audi" at the Larz Anderson Museum of Transportation German Car Day two weeks ago, beating out three Turbo Quattro Coupes, two R8s, and others. I have driven the car 2.5 hours at a time with no issues. Because of the age of the car it is being sold with no warranty, but as you will see in the pictures, it is in amazing shape. I am willing to help the winning bidder with transport at his/her expense, or will pick them up at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT, or the train or bus station in Springfield, MA. I have a clear Massachusetts title. I require a $1000 deposit within 3 days and pick up of the vehicle within 14 days of the auction's end.
