Divorce forces sale. Below is one of my project vehilces that is getting sold due to the divorce. Keep your eyes peeled, as there are several more to follow. Thanks in advance for your support during this challenging period in my life. Up for auction is my 1985 GMC Suburban 3/4 ton 2wd with rebuilt 350 engine and 700 turbo trans (4 spd auto) in solid running condition. Body: As shown in the pictures, the body is 99% rust free with only one spot on the pass rear qtr near the trim around the wheel opening. Obviously it needs a paint job, or a very good oxidation removal / buff job & wax. Interior is in pretty good condition with only the front seat needing a seat cover, and maybe a dash mat if the cracks bother you. Power windows & locks work, but pass side front needs switch / wire ends terminated. I have a door lock switch (new) that will work on that window. For some reason the window switch was not available. The A/C worked excellent when it was recharged just recently, but it must have a leak as it has lost pressure. The truck has rear air conditioning also, which works good when the system is charged. All glass is original, and is in good condition. All door panels are in nice shape, as are the rear seats - this is a 8 passenger - has the rear seat. The radio does not work. Not sure if it is just not connected, or if it needs to be replaced? New ignition switch. Drivetrain: The engine is a completely rebuilt 1978 350 4 bolt main block, bored .030 over, new pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod - main & cam bearings, freeze plugs, performance cam & lifters, aluminum intake, headers, crank has been ground .010/.010, heads have been port matched and lightly ported to remove all rough casting material and numbers in the ports. All oil drainback ports in the heads and block were opened up and fully radiused for quicker oil return to the pan. HV Melling oil pump, steel pinned oil pump shaft, and oil sump / pickup screen were installed. Heads have been treated to a full valve job with new springs, rotators, and keepers. Roller tip rocker arms were also installed, along with new pushrods. New engine mounts, SFI flywheel & bolts, balancer, timing cover, HEI distributor, water pump (reverse rotation), serpentine drive belt - all accessories have been converted to serpentine drive. New radiator hoses, heater hoses, clamps, t-stat, Spectre dual inlet chromed aluminum air cleaner assembly, spark plugs & wires, oil filter & oil, coolant (entended life), wiper blades, passenger outer tie rod end, 800 cca battery, a/c manifold / line assembly. New battery cables also. Engine runs excellent and makes tons of power, but will make alot more with a performance carb & better intake. It has about 500 miles on it since it was rebuilt. Trans works great, and has had the front pump seal, filter & fluid (fully drained 10 qts), and rear seal replaced. Shifts excellent. The truck originally came with a 454 & 400 turbo, which was removed from the vehicle before I bought it. Brakes work great , with no pulsing or lag. Stops on a dime.
