1972 Jaguar XJ6 All original, 2 owner (the 2nd owner - us - have had it for about 6 months). Garaged every day from original purchase. Have all original documentation such as manuals, handbooks and receipts. Original paint and chrome, does not appear to have ever been in an accident worth mentioning. Almost new white walled Dunlop tires. 73,311 miles on odometer. Engine: 6 - cylinder in-line. Twin overhead camshaft with straight port-type cylinder head. 7 - bearing crankshaft Exhaust and evaporative emission control. Compression ratio: 8:1 Displacement: 4235c.c. (258.43 cu. in.). Carburetion: Tow Stromberg 175 CD2SE carburetors. 2 - 14.5 gallon Fuel tanks Transmission: Borg Warner three - speed fully automatic with torque converter. Drive 3.31 - 6.62 Steering: Rack - and - pinion, power assisted Turns - lock to lock: 3.5 Suspension: Front: Independent with “anti-dive” geometry, incorporating coil springs and separate shock absorbers. Rear: Fully independent with paired coil springs and concentric shock absorbers. Brakes: Power - assisted 4 - wheel disc brakes with independent circuits to front and rear brakes. Wheels: Ventilated pressed steel, 15 in. Electrical: Negative Ground. 12 - volt system, with alternator. Original Performance data: Max speed: 115 m.p.h. Acceleration: 0 - 60 10.9 sec. Standing Quarter Mile: 17.9 sec.Instruments: Speedometer with trip odometer. Electric tach. Battery indicator, oil pressure, water temperature and fuel gauges. Clock. Interior: Semi - reclining leather-faced front seats with adjustable headrest; rear seats leather - faced. Inertia reel seat belts, front. Cigarette lighter with luminous socket. Lockable glove box and console. Deep pile carpet. Heating and ventilation: Flow - through “Posivent” ventilation system Two - speed flow fans. Adjustable defroster vents. A/C. Vehicle only needs these things that I know of: (All parts are readily available) 1 - Adjust valves 2 - Clean adjust carburetors. 3 - Replace 1 fuel pump (it seems to run on only one tank). 4 - Front floor mats/carpet. This car sat in a enclosed garage for 3 years (while it was stored). It has always been a garaged vehicle. I am not a collector of British cars so I’m not all that familiar with them. I bought this because the women was elderly and needed to sell. I purchased it, got it running and the minor repair problems listed above exist - not that there could be more but these were the only ones that I found.
