Vehicle Detail
This is a great start to a resto or could be a driver with very little work. I bought this car 7 years ago with the intent of restoring it myself but I still do not have the space to do so. The car ran at that point but I proceeded to monkey with it until I broke the starter. I figured I should not even be doing that because I was making payments on the car so there it sat in my garage. Years later, the car is paid off and I have still not had time to mess with it so I am letting it go. I have it for sale locally and one Jag collector came and looked at it and really wanted it, said it was an honest machine and a great start to a classic. I guess in hind sight I should have taken his offer, but now this gives the rest of you E lovers the chance to own the coveted series 1 covered headlight roadster, so that is good too! This is a matched engine and body, the head does not match. It is the triple SU 3.8 liter car, capable I am told of 150+ MPH. The car is not currently running but comes with a new high torque starter, so should be pretty easy to get going. The car has under 100000 original miles and did not smoke or do anything weird when I last drove it. It also stopped and shifted as it should. It currently has a later full synchro gearbox installed but comes with the stock crash box. The car does have some rust in the floor, a couple small holes and the driver side sill is cracked. Really typical stuff. Inside trunk looks good and under hood looks good with the exception of the standard battery area corrosion.I have collected extra parts for a full resto, near complete set of rubbers, new side mirrors, new stainless heater lines, new floor panels, new engine hoses, new knock off set and of course the heater box and air boxes are included, but not currently installed. The car is so complete that it really would be an easy resto, if there is such a thing. My buy it now is less than I have into the car so I hope you will see its value and make it your beautiful new car. It really has to be one of the best looking cars ever made! This fine machine is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please email if you have any questions or better yet, if you are in the area come by and take a look for yourself. Cash is best but wire transfer would be acceptable, no checks or BS cashiers checks. I can help with packing the extra parts but shipping is the buyers responsibility.
