Up for auction is a 1979 cj5 with a 258 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed manual transmission. It has a tilt steering wheel column. No radio. It has aluminum rims with newer tires with great tread. This spring when i took the jeep out of storage i noticed that the gas tank had started leaking. I put a outboard marine tank in the back seat to move it around. It runs but it doesnt run correctly beacuse of the eliminated return line to the norma gas tank. If you flutter the gas pedal it stays running but if you let off it stalls out. It also has a slow leak in the front brake lines. The rear brakes do not work at all. Their is also a few rough spots on the drivers side of the frame that will need to be repaired. The fenders, grill and hood are solid. The body of the jeep is rough. Floors have been patched etc...body mounts repaired. I put a set of black seats in it. They are not bolted down. The vehicle will need to be trailered home. I replaced the radiator last year as well as the steering stabilizer. With a bit of work this truck could be road worth again and is considered a project.
