Vehicle Detail

1997 Suzuki TL1000S, 10,140 miles Do to emails trying to scam me I will not answer any. Therefore, if you are interested; call me. Please don't email or call me and offer to sell my bike for me. This is a 1000cc, double overhead cam, fuel injected, V twin. Two Brothers 2-1-2 shotgun full exhaust, HyperPro steering damper, Steel Braided Lines, alloy sprocket and 520 Gold Chain, new Dunlop front and Pirelli rear and extra new rear tire, Sharkskin tail section, gel seat, upgraded chip and remapped, recall on gas tank done, flush rear turn signals, billet exhaust fasteners and hangers and carbon tank protector. I'm 67 years old and rarely ride this beast anymore. The last time I really rang it out was probably over ten years ago on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also have a 2000 YZ125 race prepped cross bike in case you're interested. I don't ride it at all anymore as I've sold my pickup truck. Anyway, the '97 TL was called the widow maker when it first came out. That's not a good thing. It is truly a beast and should not be ridden by the faint of heart or newbie. It'll rear it's head and spit you off in a heart beat or top side you if you don't finesse the throttle. This bike is a little thinner between your legs than the TL1000R and also several pounds lighter. It should weigh less than 400 pounds without gas. I haven't weighed it, but I'd guess it might go 395. Finally, with the Two Brothers full system it is extremely loud. I have the stock mufflers on it now without the stock exhaust as I no longer have it. It looks odd but I need to do it as I live on a golf course and don't want to irritate my neighbors. You can easily slip the Two Brothers mufflers on after you leave my development. I do have the original seat and tail section. I almost forgot, the bike is not perfect but looks pretty good. I did drop it on the left side one day in some marble size gravel. The only damage was the shifter lever was bent slightly (see photo) and the bottom of the clutch cover is scratched and you can only see it if you get down on the ground. In 1964 a prospective buyer ran my 1948 Harley into the back of my garage. Circa, 1980 a prospective buyer hit a submerged log with an acquaintance's $15,000 power boat. Needless to say the test pilot didn't opt to buy the item in either instance. With that said I'm feel very uncomfortable letting someone test ride, but for a serious buyer with cash in hand or cashier's check I can feel uncomfortable. If you're interested, call me at 803 643 7059. I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Call me from 9am to 10pm EST as soon as you can after the auction.
