I purchesed this car for my son to drive to college. I later found out that he will not be able to park close enough to use the car and have decided to sell it. No sense in paying insurance premiums for a car that will be sitting for the next year! I purchased this 1987 BMW from the second owner. I was told by her that the car's odemeter quit working about 5,000 miles ago. The odemeter states 138,000 miles and does not operate, nor does the tachometer. This car is a driver, it looks good, and has the following features: Power door locks, windows, sunroof and seats. Power steering and brakes, sunroof does not leak. This car drives great, straight as an arrow. headliner is intact, It has very nice aluminum wheels and 1/2 -3/4 tire tread left. I have all the service records since it was purchased new. It has had the oil changed every 3,000 miles. An attorney had the car originally and then I purched the car from the second owner who has had the car for a few years. The brake lining light on the car is on, but the brakes seem fine to me. The Air Conditioner does not work.The radio worked when I purchased the car, but after the battery went dead (Key left on) I have been unable to get the radio to work because I do not know the code to input for the security system. The car is clean, floor boards and carpets are in great shape, leather seats could use some leather conditioner but all power items are operating. There is a crack in the windshield that could be repaired, and a small dent in the right front fender, but other than that all the rest are very typical dings and scratches, and some rust. The car does not smell as though it has been smoked in, and certainly was not while I have had it. I tried to photograph the rust sponts so you could see them. The dashboard has some small minor cracks in the vinyl. The paint is somewhat faded. I am not sure that this would matter to someone unless they were going to restore it. I am selling this Car "AS IS" and will not be responsible for anything that happens to it after payment.
