Vehicle Detail

2003 Honda S2000, 32K miles High resolution photos of the car and the additional wheels can be accessed using flickr here. Click "ALL SIZES" above a photo to enlarge it. Follow this link to this car's (free) Carfax page that I have purchased. I am the second owner, the car has only 31,700 miles on it, and it has no modifications of any kind. Both the previous owner (I bought the car near Tampa, FL in September '07 with 17,500 miles on it) and I have kept the car in a garage in Florida all of the time, so the brilliant red paint shows no signs of fading, and the vinyl top is in excellent condition, with no damage at all, and no leaks. This car has the glass rear window with defogger, far superior to the plastic window of the earlier models. The black leather interior has no damage or stains (for some reason eBay thinks the driver's seat is power operated, but it isn't). I have changed the oil myself every 3000 mi with synthetic oil (I have a record of this.) Everything on the car works, like new; the air conditioning is cold (see photo). The engine on this car is the 2-liter, 240 hp version with the 8,900 rpm redline, and it really is what makes this car unique. The six-speed transmission shifts very smoothly. There are two immobilizer keys with remote fobs. The body panels are all straight and there is almost no cosmetic damage to the body. There is a one-inch scratch on the fender ahead of the driver's side rear wheel (see photo) and a couple of 1/8" flecks of paint missing from the driver's door handle (see photo), and there are just a few stone chips on the front bumper and front of the hood, but apart from that the paint is pristine. A little paint (at most 1/4" wide) is scraped off part of the leading edge of the body-colored plastic panel hidden under the front bumper, but there is no damage--if you have looked under the front bumper of S2000's you will find there can be a lot of damage and paint loss there, because the front of the car is so low. Two of the wheels are clean, the driver's front wheel has one curved scratch and some minor rim scraping (see photo) and the passenger-side rear wheel has two scrapes on it (see photo). However, there are three spare Honda OEM front wheels, one of which is clean apart from two minor marks (see photo and photo) and two clean spare Honda OEM rear wheels (these currently have the original tires on them, with very little tread left.) All four tires on the car have a minimum of 3/32" to 4/32" of tread left on the Bridgestone Potenza S02 tires (225/50 rear, 205/55 front); these come with 8/32" from the factory. These are very sticky tires (rated 140 AA) and wear quickly, especially at the rear, but the car corners like it is on rails. My wife is no longer working so we are sharing her car when I am not riding by bicycle to work. We need the garage space and the money, but I will be sad to see this car go. I have a 100% positive rating on eBay with 343 transactions, including 60 as a seller. I am a 52-year old physics professor and have sold two cars on eBay (MR2 Spyder and MR2 turbo) and both buyers were very pleased (see July 22 '07 and August 13 '05 on my seller feedback.) I wouldn't buy a car without seeing it and driving it first, and I strongly recommend that you don't either. I require a $500 deposit via PayPal from the winning bidder within 48 hours of the auction close, which I will refund if the buyer doesn't agree that the car is exactly as I have described. I can pick the winning bidder up from the airport in Tallahassee if necessary. I have the title of the car in hand; there is no lien. Cash or cashier's check only. Thanks for looking!
