Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Mustang Convertible, A - Code. This is a well cared for Mustang that has been garaged its entire life. My father bought it from his neighbor about 10 years ago. His neighbor purchased the car in 1973, so the car has been on the same street in Woodland Hills, California for the past 37 years. We have a copy of the 1973 California Pink Slip. The car has California Black plates on it, beginning with RYG. California license plates that begin with RYG were issued in 1966, so while the car may have been destined to be shipped somewhere else after leaving the San Jose factory, we are pretty certain that the car has been in California its entire life. The Mustang has the following options: 289 cu Engine with a 4 Barrel Carb, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Automatic Transmission, Cold Factory Air Conditioning, Power Top, Center Console, Correct Styled Steel Wheels, BF Goodrich White Wall Tires, Fog Lights, Rear Back-up Lights, Chrome Dress-up Kit on Motor, Aftermarket Mustang Radio with MP3 Hidden Connection, Dual Exhaust, Original Seat Belts (front and back). Everything on the car works excellent. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2008 and has been driven less than 2,000 miles since then. The car starts and drives perfectly. The glass and chrome are in excellent condition. The car was repainted one time - the correct 1966 Mustang color of Vintage Burgandy about 15 years ago, though the original color is Sauterne Gold. The paint job has held up well over the years, but it is starting to show its age in a few places. There is no cracking or peeling, but the color on the hood and trunk lid have begun to fade. The convertible top is not torn, but the seal that holds the two rear glass pieces of the window together has begun to separate. The body on the car is as straight as an arrow. The doors open and shut perfectly and the windows roll up and down very smoothly. We have known the car for nearly 40 years and we are unaware of the car ever being in an accident. There are absolutely no signs anywhere on the car that the car has ever had any body damage. Also, there is absolutely NO RUST on this car. The interior is in excellent condition. I have included an upclose photo of the Vin # from the engine compartment and a photo of the data plate for you Mustang enthusiasts. This is one of the finer examples of a Mustang you will find on Ebay. We welcome anyone to come look at the car or send an inspector. The car is being sold as is. The reserve on this car is set well below its value. Thank you for looking. On Jun-30-10 at 08:13:05 PDT, seller added the following information:My father has informed me that he wants room in his garage for his new Mercedes, and the Mustang must be sold. Therefore, the reserve on the car has been reduced to within a few hundred dollars of the current bid.
