Vehicle Detail
Your are bidding on a 1894 Jaguar XJ-S. I purchased the car from the original owner in 1991 with 98K miles on the odometer and all Jaguar service records. It is an accident-free, rust-free car that has been in San Diego since new. I have all receipts, records and manuals and can provide details of maintenance. I drive the car weekly and am selling it primarily because I purchased a fourth Jag and only have room for three. As you can see from the photos, the car looks great and continues to garner favorable comments. Please note that the upholstery is Naugahyde, but looks better than most leather I have seen in cars of this age. Recent repairs/additions include: (1) Rebuilt engine wiring harnesses (by me), (2) re-cored radiator, (3) new water pump, (4) single, high-output Jaguar ignition coil, and (5) high-torque starter. The car passed a Southern California smog test last year with ease. Several things need attention. The cruise control needs a bellows and actuator cable. The A/C needs a rebuild or recharge. The power-door-lock solenoids were removed after the door handles were replaced, but I have later-model replacement solenoids for installation. The transmission, which was replaced at ~65K miles by the original owner, has a leak, likely from the pan or shifter shaft seal. While is generally works without issue, it does not provide braking while going downhill in second gear. As could be expected, the car also has a few rattles. Call me at 619/742-9540 if you would like further details. This car is being sold as is. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. A deposit of $250 is required within 48 hours after sale, which can be made via PayPal.
