Vehicle Detail

1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL Please read this listing completely and thoroughly. I have made every effort to disclose everything imaginable about this vehicle. If you read and understand this listing completely there should be no surprises on delivery. Below I have provided every detail about this vehicle I know. This is rather lengthy but buying vehicles without seeing them first warrants caution. Anything not listed in the “The bad and the ugly” section should be in good shape. I have made every effort to discuss all aspects of this vehicle. Anything I may have missed is not with the intention of hiding or misrepresenting anything. I value my 100% feedback rating and always try to provide as much and as accurate information as possible. Please do not bid on this vehicle unless you intend to buy it. As stated in the text displayed when you confirm your bid, you are entering a contract to purchase the item if you confirm your bid and you are responsible for reading the listing completely and asking questions before the end of the auction. Listing vehicles is not cheap and relisting this vehicle would be particularly bad financially for me given the low price I expect it to bring. If you have additional questions, please ask. Description: This vehicle is in mechanically good condition for its year. Cosmetically it is pretty rough. I feel it would make a great starter car or project car for someone who likes to do the work themselves or wants to learn how to work on cars. Of course it could also be used for parts. I have owned this vehicle since 2003 and used it as a daily driver. I purchased it with 80,535 miles. Since then I have put 53,685 miles on it with very few problems. This is about 7,700 miles per year while I have owned it or 9,000 miles per year since it was new. (I have not driven this vehicle much in the last 6 months.) It has not been in any accidents while I have owned it and I do not believe it was before I bought it. The good: · Drive train is strong, quick, and responsive. Fun to drive. · Suspension is tight and responsive. These cars have a sport and touring setting. Sport setting is quite stiff (fun to drive but not very comfortable). · Tires have decent wear left but will probably need to be replaced before too many more miles · Wheels are chromed. · A set of wheel locks are included but I found them to be annoying so I removed them. (The wheels are a very snug fit on the studs so getting them off after removing all the lug nuts takes a little more work than expected.) · Driving moderately I usually get MPG in the upper 20s. · Huge fuel tank (I think 18 gallons. Range greater than 400 miles.) · Interior is in decent condition. No cracks in the dashboard etc. (If I were restoring this vehicle I would replace the carpet, recover the front seats and clean the headliner.) · No rust · Never any problems passing inspections in the past, however, inspection and registration have expired and I will make no guarantees on this topic. I do not expect any issues. The bad and the ugly: · Interior: o Driver’s seat bolster wear (typical) (Passenger seat shows some wear but not too bad. Rear seats are very good.) o Carpet is warn (no mats) o AM/FM/CD/Cassette/CD Changer (taken from a different GT). The stereo does not work for some reason. It powers on, accepts the code, and appears to tune correctly but produces no sound. I have not been able to figure out why. o Interior lighting for the HVAC controls is intermittent o The CD changer is mounted in the left-rear of the car and is not connected (no cables). o The dash speakers in these cars this age are typically cracked. These have been replaced o Sunroof cover is missing o Broken latch on console compartment lid (typical) o Some stitching on the cargo cover has come apart o Trim panels covering jack etc in the rear do not stay on well (typical) · Body: o Vehicle needs bodywork and paint o Most panels are scratched o Driver’s front fender is damaged (garage has matching damage L) o Paint on hood is terribly faded (down to primer in large places) o Clear coat is pealing in several places o Moderate curb rash on some of the wheels o Flaking/pealing door trim under windows (typical) o Cracked dash vents (typical) o Flaking/pealing plastic headlights (typical) (According to information on the internet, these can be polished and resealed without much difficulty or expense but I never got around to it.) o Power antenna does not work (at least it is stuck in the up position and does not interfere with opening the rear hatch) o Rear washer does not work o Front license plate bracket is bent. (Should not be difficult to straighten.) · Battery is very weak · Air conditioning blows very cold but makes a terrible noise. I have not been able to figure out the source. I have replaced the compressor and condenser. I have also replaced the tensioner pulley and belts. My last idea was to replace the alternator idler pulley but I have not done this. · When cold the suspension creaks (probably just needs lubrication but may be more) · Original key fobs were not included when bought. An after-market security system has been installed and 2 key fobs are included. This system can be a little quirky occasionally but no real problems Maintenance: · Changed the oil and filter with Mobile 1 fully synthetic oil every 5000 miles. · Replaced air filter. · Replaced the timing belt and water pump. I believe this work was done at approximately 110k miles. · Replaced the clutch. The pedal is quite soft but the clutch engages fully with no grinding or slipping. (Transmission oil is changed as part of this work.) · Replaced the spark plugs and wires. · Replaced brake pads. · Replaced alternator. · AC compressor and condenser. (See note in “The bad and the ugly” section.) Payment Options: · 10% deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. · The remaining balance can be paid via Cash, Paypal, or check. In the case of a check, I will hold the title until the check has cleared my bank. Delivery Options: · Given the low price I expect this vehicle to bring, I doubt it would be worth it to pay for shipping. I don’t know anything about shipping vehicles. If you really want to ship it, you will be responsible for all arrangements and payment. · I will deliver the vehicle to any location within 50 miles of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex at no cost. Please contact me to discuss locations further away. · I will pick you up at the DFW International Airport with the vehicle. I am confident it can make a long trip with no problems however; in this case I would recommend replacing the battery. Please contact me and I will be happy to do this if you cover the cost of the battery.
