Vehicle Detail

Heres a very rare 1969 firebird convertible listed with a much (many thousands) lower, than buy it now, reserve. RESERVE IS $5000.00 While its 350 engine and trans are not super rare, when you take a look at its other options coupled with it being a convertible it gets very rare very fast. Its also the right colors windward blue body with black interior and black top from the factory. This is an excerpt from a very popular pontiac decoding site. A new 4-way power seat was offered for the first time in 1968 Firebirds. It would be offered again in 1969, then discontinued and never brought back. Only 207 power seats were sold in '68 and 907 through Aug '69 making this a rare option! That alone would make the car very rare, but this car also has tilt wheel, Wood wheel, power disk brakes, remote side mirror, clock, speed warning which makes this a truely rare car. restoration guys search for years and years for a car equipped like this to restore. I have the original build sheet from under the rear seat which shows all the Options listed. The dash and dash bezel are in great condition and very tight in fit, you can tell this car was taken good care of in its day. The car was owned by its last owner since 1979! His resume he wrote right out of college is still in the car, because thats the last time he drove it! The parts alone in this car are very valuable. It was stored in a garage with only very occasional use since the late 80's, and wasnt used at all after 1993 until I rescued it. I am the owner of several 1969 firebirds and know them well, This car is very original. Its one of the most unmolested examples I have owned. It retains its original engine, trans, rear, Intake, carb, distributor, Air cleaner etc etc. The dash bezel is even uncut, The wood wheel is in very good condition for its age and has no visible cracks. This is the car you want to restore and spend money on, because its rare enough to get your money back. It even has its original ralley wheels and has bias ply tires on it still. Its also the kind of car you can be very sure wont be the same as a car its sitting next to at a show. Theres nothing worse than having a garden variety car at a show with nothing special going for it. Now for the bad parts, The car was kept in a garage on a concrete floor but that didnt save the body all that well. The winter salt here in CT helped to rust the fenders, 1/4's, outer wheel houses, and floor pans. he top will also need to be replaced. The rear frame rails and front subframe are in great condition for a CT car. I have not opened the trunk yet because I dont have the trunk key. The seats and the dash are in really good shape for the year, but have a few stitches here and there pulling. Consider this car to need a complete restoration! The car will start and run and idle pretty good even with very very old gas in it, I can put it in gear and drive it forward and back but it needs brake lines so thats all I have done with it. The tires will all hold air but the front drivers side tire has abad valve stem, they are all old and dry rotted but it can be loaded on a trailer fairly easily using block of wood for braking. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at (860) 392 9608 Jeff I didnt have the VIN or a the Mileage when I listed the Item please call for info It was raining like crazy at the time. I have a couple of parties I spoke with about a purchase before the auction so I reserve the right to end the auction early to sell it to any of these previous possible buyers. I have tried to describe this car to the best of my abilities. If you need more info or have questions ASK BEFORE BIDDING! There will be no refunds on this car and it is the buyers obligation to look over and make thier own judgements on its condition. It is sold as is where is with no warranty. Your bid is a written contract to buy at that price and there will be no future price reductions for any reason. shipping is a the sole responsibility of the buyer although I will try and help out to the best of my ability to meet a transport company on premises if needed. Additional seller info unrelated to this auction: I manufacture 1967 to 1969 firebird turbo headers for race cars ask me about them if your interested. I sell turbos, wastegates, and blowoff valves too. My turbocharged race/ street car runs 9.70's at 145 and is capable of 17MPG on 93 octane. I have another 1969 firebird convertible (driver quality) for sale that may be listed soon so keep watching. On Jun-22-10 at 07:19:39 PDT, seller added the following information: If this auction does $5500 or more I will throw in a new aftermarket good mark fender that I have for the car!
