We are pleased to offer this beautiful Glacier White MGB on behalf of its current owner. This exceptional example is a documented three-owner car with only 42K miles. There are receipts dating back to 1977 and copies of the only three titles this car has ever had. The current owner bought the car in October 2005 with only 37K miles. The previous owner had driven it very sparingly and kept it in a heated garage for over 20 years. Over the last 4+ years the current owner has invested considerable time and money to bring the car’s maintenance up to date and make a few typical and necessary late-model MGB improvements. Cosmetically the car has been prepared to show and win! In the last two annual NE Ohio British car shows it has won 1st Place among rubber bumper MGB’s in 2010 and 3Rd Place out of all MGB’s in 2009. At the 2008 Meet of the American MGB Association it won 1st Place. At the 2008 Roadster Factory Summer Party it won 2nd in class in the Concours d’Elegance and 1st place in the 2009 Vintage drag racing. BODY/PAINT There is NO rust or bondo anywhere! If you are new to British cars this is THE most important thing to look for. The vast majority of these cars have rust lurking somewhere and if it is not visible it has typically been covered by Bondo and a quickie paint job. We have 20 years of experience owning and tinkering with British cars so we know what to look for. The car amazingly has a significant amount of original paint in exceptional condition. The lower sides were repainted when the typical late-model MGB black stripes and logos were removed a few years ago. It is impossible to tell this work was done. All the rubber and trim is beautiful. The chrome is exceptional. The glass is all original. Obviously the car shows fantastically as evidenced by the various awards it has won. INTERIOR/TOP The black interior is in perfect condition with redone seats, new carpet and sun visors. The original interior components such as the dash and door panels look like new. The steering wheel has been upgraded. There is a super Blaupunkt London radio with Pioneer speakers. The top is the ORIGINAL canvas top in super condition. It is a much better top than the replacements currently available. There is also an excellent boot, tonneau and car cover. RECENT MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE/UPGRADES ENGINE: Weber carb installed with new fuel pump, lines, and hoses. New radiator. New waterpump, thermostat and all new hoses and belts. EXHAUST Complete new Tourist Trophy stainless steel exhaust from Moss. Dual ceramic-coated exhaust manifold BRAKES: New master cylinder New pads and rotors SUSPENSION New springs in front for lowering the ride to the earlier MGB ride height. The rear springs are shackled to match. ELECTRICAL · New Pertronix electronic ignition, performance coil, plugs and wires. · Upgraded headlights with relays. · Upgraded alternator. TIRES/WHEELS New Performance Challenger alloys with new Goodyear tires. These wheels are an excellent replica of the Limited Edition MGB wheels. DRIVING IMPRESSION This car runs and drives perfectly. The engine starts up immediately, idles correctly and has the power of an early chrome bumper MGB. The transmission shifts perfectly and clutch engagement is very smooth. Suspension and steering are nice and tight. Handling is much better than stock rubber-bumper MGB’s which just sit up too high. Tires are correctly balanced and the car is vibration-free at speeds well above the speed limit. Braking is firm and straight. Some vehicles may still be covered under factory warranty or an extended warranty may be purchased at an additional cost. Please ask for details. All Inspection and Questions must be completed within due time of an auction ending. A Pre-Purchase inspection (if desired) can be made. We can recommend local places and provide you with options for your inspection if desired. We will also bring the car to the local (Akron Area) inspection location free of charge. HOWEVER, All appointments and inspection fees must be made and paid for prior to us delivering the car to the inspecting location. All bidders must have pre-approved loans/financing or must be able to pay cash for the vehicle. Financing must be secured prior to bidding. All sales will have a $145 documentation fee. In-state buyers must also pay sales tax and registration fees. Out-of-State buyers must register and pay applicable taxes in their home state. Payment must be made by certified check/money order or funds wire transfer. Upon receipt a completed Bill of Sale will be faxed to the winning bidder. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. Seller reserves the right to end the auction early. Our cars are being offered for sale outside of the eBay auction system. Seller reserves the right to reject any and all bids at all times.
