This is one for the handypersons or technicians out there. This car needs work to make is safe and roadworthy. We HIGHLY suggest that you tow this vehicle from our dealership, the suspension and brake problems are serious and it may not be a good idea to make any long trips.
This is a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue GX sedan with 117,000 miles. It has had only 1 senior owner and was well cared for for many years. The Silvermist Metallic finish still holds up well after all those miles and would really look great with a full detail. We just washed and vacuumed the car for the photos. No cleaning was done to this Olds, this is exactly how it was traded. There is a dent in the left fender and the usual dings/dents found on an older car, but in our opinion nothing too bad.
The interior is grey custom cloth and features a pair of front buckets with center console and full rear bench. This Olds is well equipped with power windows/locks, cruise, tilt, moonroof, CD radio, air conditioning and more. The windows, locks, moonroof and radio are all working. The air conditioning is blowing warm and has a problem.
Power for this Oldsmobile is provided by a 3.5 V6 backed by an automatic transaxle driving the front wheels. The engine starts right up and seems to run well.
All four tires are BF Goodrich radials. They are worn to between 5/32" and 8/32" and mounted upon the original factory alloy rims.
We did not service this Olds or perform an extensive evaluation. The suspension condition made it obvious that this vehicle would need work. Our technician took a short test drive and found the following; both lower control arm bushings are worn, front sway bar bushings and links worn, all brake pads worn, brake rotors rusty. There may be some other worn front suspension parts, but these stood out and is where you should begin the repairs.
