This is a 1957 Ford Ranchero. Was Restored in the late nineties, almost $50K into the car to get it into show quality. My dad originally purchased the car in 1963 as his daily driver, 35 years later he restored her to show quality. It has an automatic Cobra Jet 428 under the hood that has a thrown rod (bent the rod, did not break it or send it through the block) so she is not currently running, nor has it been for the past two years, but when she is she runs hard. The block is not damaged, however you are probably looking at around $3000 for a mechanic to get the car running again (the quote I received), or a considerable amount of your own time if you are a mechanic yourself. I don't have the money or the time to get the work done so sadly I have to let this beauty go. This car would be great for you if you are looking to work on a big block or if you have an engine you want to drop in to an already cherry looking ride. The paint and chrome are near flawless, there is some rusting in the corners of the bed, and small scratch over the drivers door on the roof. The car has electric windows, a CD player, the original guages, and a leather bed cover with snaps. The interior is Burgandy cloth as is the carpet. It has 5 spoke American Racing wheels. On Jun-21-10 at 19:59:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone asked to verify if this is a 428. I cannot add anymore pictures on here, but I have photos of the "325" markings, which were put on all 428's, now that does not verify that it is a CJ, but it does verify at least that the block is legit. The intake also has markings C6AE-9425, again this does not verify it is a CJ but it does verify that it is a big block Ford V8, either a 390 or a 428, that combined with the "352" marking, and the fact I know for sure it is a 428 is about all I can offer. Verifying it is a CJ would require disassembling the engine, which I am not prepared to do at this point.
