Vehicle Detail
This is a one owner car; my dad purchased it new in 1967 after returning from overseas. It was carefully driven over the next 30 years, and restored with a full repaint, rebuilt engine and upholstery upgrades in 1985. Since then, it has been driven about 4,000 miles. The car has been garage kept and has no rust. This past winter I replaced all of the hydraulic rubber, Bristolflex weatherstripping, gas tank/sending unit and fuel pump. I also added a high torque starter, sound/heat barrier between the cockpit and engine/exhaust, Ansa free flow exhaust, and shifter mounted overdrive switch. Twin carbs have been professionally rebuilt, with all seals, bushings, floats and needles replaced. Oil pressure is excellent, with 60 psi at start up and consistent pressure at speed, all gauges, along with overdrive work fine. This Vehicle includes the original owner's manual, Knock Off Hammer, spare wire wheel and period Kangol 3 point seat belts. The steering wheel is original, and in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips. The interior upholstry includes wool carpets in excellent shape and the original vinyl seats, doors and trim. The car does have fiberglass rear quarter panels, and the front bumper and convertible cover/tonneau is missing, however the convertible top is in good shape. This vehicle is being sold as-is with no warranties written or implied. Winning bidder is responsible for transport. Inspection is available prior to completion of the auction; please e-mail me to coordinate a time. Winning bidder to pay $1,000 at auction completion, and full payment within 5 days. The Healey is a solid, daily runner; and has proved to be very reliable over the past 43 years; or if you are looking for a car to restore, this would be extremely easy project to undertake, and would consist mostly of some cosmetic upgrades. On Jun-13-10 at 10:23:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Added additional pictures of exterior and underside. Also note that the Healey has all new brake discs and calipers. On Jun-13-10 at 18:04:32 PDT, seller added the following information: VIDEO ADDED: I have added a video on youtube called "Calamo Street Austin Healey 3000 Mk III", so it should be very easy to find if you type that title in the search bar. The direct link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJvyz5Fw5ac I took the video late this afternoon (Sunday June 13) for a quick spin around the neighborhood, and give you the opportunity to hear the fantastic sound of that inline six engine. The car is a load of fun; great gas milage and simple mechanics but tons of low end torque.
