1983 Mercedes Benz 380 SL Convertible I have owned this fine automobile for almost 7 years and have spent countless dollars accesorizing the car with every quality accesory that was available. I purchased from the 2nd owner who also took exceptional care of the car. It has ALWAYS been garaged, as will be evident when you see the car. The pictures included in this listing were taken prior to this season's wax/detail job. This is the way that the car looked when I took it out from the garage and hosed her off. As I pride myself in being honest - please note that I can say without exageration that THESE PICTURES DO NOT DO THIS CAR JUSTICE....IT LOOKS EVEN NICER IN PERSON Body & Paint After inspection, most will agree that it would be difficult to find a 1983 with the body and paint that this car has. In fact, one might have trouble finding a 2003 with the body and paint that this car has. There are virtually no visible defects on the body of this car... Interior Let me start by saying that the seats are the nicest I have seen on a 1983 ... They are very near mint...(Please look at the pictures). Even the center arm rest is in beautiful (I keep it covered with Sheepskin to protect it). The dash in this car is not cracked or faded as so many others are. You will find in the photos that I have added custom Zebrano Wood Arm rests, Door and Dash trim, and Steering wheel insert at a cost of more than $2,500....(actual costs). I have also installed the third seat kit in the rear. The floor mats are PERFECT and LIKE NEW. They are the famous "Cocoa Mats" which cost almost $250 per set. The Door Saddles are brushed aluminum with the Mecedes Benz stamped insignia, and the Door Jams are completely covered in hi quality CHROME. One will find it very tough to locate many of these custom features today - at any cost..... Wheels and Tires The wheels and tires have less than 500 miles on them. They are Chrome with Gold Accent trim. They have no curb rash or visible defects on them. Other Custom Features Rear deck mounted lip spoiler Chrome wheel lip trim Special custom chrome door edge guards (not $5 plastic trim parts) Custom chrome front grill with Mercedes Star logo Mechanical This car is EXTREMELY reliable. It starts up every time. The engine and transmission run just as they did when I got the car. The suspension and brakes operate perfectly. The convertible roof was professionally replaced 3 years ago and is in PERFECT condition. The rear window shows no sign of fading or cracking whatsoever. The hard top which comes with the car is also in PERFECT condition. The only thing I can think of that may need some attention is the A/C system. I just tried it out and realized that it was not blowing cold air (needs a charge?) - but then again, I never used A/C in this topless beauty. Potential buyers are welcome to inspect the car at any time. Upon close of the auction - payment is expected in FULL within 7 days. A deposit of no less than $1,000 will be expected within 12 hours of the close of the auction. I AM NOT TESTING THE MARKET AND I DO NOT EXPECT TO DEAL WITH TIRE KICKERS. As you will soon see, the Reserve Price is VERY REASONABLE - unlike so many unrealistic sellers. I am selling my love because I need cash....My loss is your gain! Please be as genuine as I am.
