1971 is the first year for the Pinto, and LESS than 1 in 5 that year are hatchbacks (‘half glass’ hatch)! (wagons were not made until 1972). Look at the history of other cars, the FIRST YEAR tends to be VERY sought after!! 100% Stock, 42K miles (subject to change as we still drive it), lots of factory options: 2.0, A/T, Front Disc Brakes, Factory A/C (not dealer add-on or aftermarket), Rare Car!! It has the rare factory plastic console with clock, tinted windows, 'pop-out' quarter glass, front disc brakes (ALL factory options). Come take a look! THIS CAR was recently used in a television show, "Louie" coming this month on FX starring Louie C.K. (check him out on youtube), and will be shown sometime this summer. It was used in a ‘flash-back’ scene with Louie as a kid and his mother having a conversation in 'her Pinto'. I will give the new owner ALL the documentation for this, as well as the contact information if the production company wants to use it again. The car runs and drives great, and can be driven home by the winning bidder. Literally fly here & drive it home if the winning bidder wants. Everything has been looked at and or repaired so we would drive this car to Alaska tomorrow if we wanted to. Everything works but the A/C. All items listed below were done within the last 18 months. There are many Pinto parts that are 1971 only, or 71 to early 72 only and not correct for even a 73. All parts listed below are correct "D1FZ..." (or the like) Pinto Parts. (please don’t ask if we want a trade for anything, we don't, and no, we do not want to ship outside the U.S. for double the money paid by a third party with a bad check) Please note that a set of floor mats will go with the car, as well as a few extra parts I have for the car. The paint is good ‘driver’ quality and shines nice. Some minor dings/blems were painted over. With having the factory black interior the car color can be changed to most any color that you want, if you want. The interior is very good for the age of the car. The vinyl is still very soft. There was a repair done on the lower drivers seat (see photo). Please note that there is NO ‘protectant’ of any kind on any interior parts in any of the photos (or exterior). Unless we sell to the high bidder (like we have in the past) we will not end the auction early once the reserve is met. This makes it rough for those waiting to bid at the last seconds, sorry. We WILL NOT be sending ANY ‘Second Chance Offers’ on this item if it does not meet the reserve. We are not in a rush to sell. A few more details: Some of the exterior trim is a little dull, has blems, or pitting, the headliner has a few repairs, the a/c system is missing the expansion block and the hoses are questionable (we have no idea what it would need to make it fully functional), the dash could use new paint, the steering wheel has some cracking, the windshield has some ‘fogging’ in the lower passenger side, some minor surface rust under the carpet & other areas was treated with a converter. Please remember that this is a 40 year old car, and for that it’s in great condition. Buyer is responsible for shipping and related costs. The car must be paid for and picked up within 7 days from the end of the auction unless otherwise other terms are agree to before the bid. We will assist the shipper in every reasonable way. A $500. deposit is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction (paypal or cash), payment in full before the car leaves our place. We can deliver the car to a limited area for a fee.
