Vehicle Detail
Very nice Mercedes for sale. I am the third owner. the second owner purchased it in 1985 from the original owner. I purchased the car in 2009. Has not been driven very much. Lots of engine work (new gaskets, tune-up, etc) performed, as well as servicing the suspension and replacing the hydraulic pump ($1100 alone!) 1979 Mercedes Benz 6.9 Vehicle history: -Original CA car with blue plates. The first owner lived in Atherton, CA, where the car remained until 1985 when it was sold on a consignment lot to its second owner in Palo Alto, CA. I purchased the car in January 2009 with 135k miles on it. The High points: -Shortly after purchasing the car, it had a major suspension failure. This led to an extensive service of the vehicle. Regular tune –up items, air filter, oil filter, new spark plugs, ignition wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, oil and filter change, power steering pump serviced, valve cover gaskets, new belts, and some misc. vacuum lines. And that was just the small stuff! 3 new nitrogen chambers, hydraulic fluid flush and refill, and a rebuilt hydraulic suspension pump were also installed. Thousands spent refreshing these systems. -It just passed CA smog -The previous owner had a high quality upholstery job done on the front seat bottom and inserts on the back rest. The bolsters and front head rests are original and VERY nice. Rear seat was re-stuffed. -Carpets are still very nice and the car sports brand new MB carpeted floor mats from the dealer. -New weather-stripping around the doors -Sunroof works, as do all windows and locks, though one lock sticks from time to time. What it will need: -Weather stripping around the rear window. This was not done with the doors and as a result, water got into the passenger trunk well and rotted to the very bottom. This will also need to be address. -bad connection to stereo speakers. -the car will also need tired. The Michelin MXVs on it have plenty of tread but I think they are older. -the car was re-sprayed at one point, and is starting to show some age.
