Vehicle Detail
1974 Corvette Convertible - Numbers Matching 350/4 Spd. Original with Only 70,616 miles ****NO RESERVE**** ****HIGHEST BIDDER WINS**** This is the ONE if you want a numbers matching convertible with it's original 350 engine and 4 spd. manual transmission. The car is highly optioned with A/C, tilt/telescopic power steering, power brakes, power windows, rear defrost, and a matching hartop. Condition: A very nice "driver" quality mid-1990's restoration was completed by the second owner, who owned it for the past 31 years. The exterior paint is very nice as the car was, and is, stored indoors. Seats and carpet are fairly nice as well. It's a very nice driver quality car with tremendous potential to drive as you "restore" or just drive. When painted in the mid-1990's the front and rear bumper covers where changed to the fiberglass replacement ones. They hold their shape. I have the original steering wheel for those who want to replace the "Zora Duntov" engraved steering wheel. Also have the original radio that was replaced sometime during the 80's I would guess. I just replaced the master cylinder so the one I took out is also going with the car. Recently rebuilt the front calipers with the newer "O-ring" kits too. Tires are nearly new with less than 200 miles on them. The original rally wheels are decent quality, needing only a light steel wool and some silver rally wheel paint. The convertible top is okay, but as you can see the rear window is clouded and has a slight tear. If you were going to use the convertible top as the primary top you will want to replace the soft top cover. The soft-top frame is fine and works well. The hard top is very nice and I keep it on most of the time. It needs the following to make it complete: rear passenger side running light bulb replaced, passenger door window motor runs (I can hear it) but the window does not go down, A/C is all there but, of course, it doesn't cool, emergency brake cable needs replaced as the emercgency brake system doesn't hold tight but only "slows" you gently, driver side door panel wood grain trim insert is "peeling" back, and the clock does not work either. After pumping the gas pedal a couple of times the numbers matching 350 fires right up and idles nicely. Engine is powerful and doesn't smoke or burn any oil. The engine block numbers are consistent with the VIN and almost everything under the hood looks pretty authentic and unmolested. Engine block stamp #'s are 4S412630 V121CKZ Miles are original. 4 spd. transmission shifts fine with the typical corvette "firm" clutch pedal spring. The driveshaft made a slight "humming" noise so I had the driveshaft inspected and the universal joints replaced. Headlights and other lights function normally. If you want to drive and/or work on restoring an unmolested C3 Convertible this is a car worth looking at and I encourage you to schedule a time to inspect the car in person. I will also help with your prepaid shipping arrangements. Remember, please don't bid if you can't, or won't pay. Any questions please email me via the eBay link above. Bid as much as you see fit for an item of this original quality. No warranties, expressed or implied, are given by the seller. It's a 36 year old car and is not perfect. It is, however, alot of fun to drive and SPRING is the best time to enjoy a nice "top down" collector car. Car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing for any reason. As with any NO RESERVE Auction, DON'T WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO BID hoping to "swoop-in" and win. Figure out what you are willing to bid, and bid. If you do that, there won't be any "regrets" for waiting to bid too late. Bidders with "ZERO or NEGATIVE FEEDBACK" need to contact me before bidding or I may delete your bid. Good luck and thanks for bidding.
