We are selling this 1926 Chevrolet 1 ton truck for one of our customers. We are a Ford dealership in southeast Iowa. Our customer bought this truck o April 11, 1990. It needed a total restoration at that point. Little did he know how much work it was going to take. After 4 years of hard labor, he finally completed the truck around 1994. When new, GM built the chassis along with the hood, cowl, front and rear fenders. All of the sheet metal is original, not reproductions. The speedometer was set back to zero's when restored and the speedo does not work. I think it needs hooked up.The cab and the backend are all custom made out of solid oak wood. The oak wood was boght at a saw mill and the logs were 50 years old, then they had to be sawed and planed. The interior is beautiful with real leather seat and door panels. The wheels were all rebuilt and the wood spokes were all rebuilt and refinished, and I must say they are a real true work of art. I asked my customer how long each wheel took to rebuild, and he said around 40 hours each. They do not vibrate or wobble at all. The tires were replaced with new boots. There is no spare, but the original spare tire rack is still there. All of the glass is modern safety glass. GM did not install front brakes from the factory. It does have rear brakes and they work like they should. The front suspension is real clean. The engine was rebuilt at time of restoration, and it runs real good. It has the correct engine that has the external push rod design. The flywheel and ring gear was replaced then, also. The truck has the original 4 speed transmission with a granny 1st gear.Also, it has the original steering wheel along with the horn button that are both real nice. The horn works. This vehicle is ready to start driving and enjoy immediately. This is a one of a kind truck that has been rebuilt by a very talented picky guy. Overall I have sold alot vehicles in my life, and I must say, if you want a vehicle that is unique and very tastfully done, you will not find a better one than this one.
