Vehicle Detail

2005 Honda CRF450X This bike has approximately $2700 in extras. It is a one owner “old guy” bike (I’m currently 57 years old) purchased new in 2005 to ride in the Colorado 500 Charity Dirt Bike ride. I rode it there in 2006, 2007, and 2008. It has seen very little use elsewhere. Each ride covered between 500 and 600 miles. Since the August 2008 ride the bike has been regularly started and run on the small track around my house (for about 15 minutes once or twice a month). It is in good mechanical condition, however the plastic is scuffed from slow speed tip overs encountered when riding gnarly trails (of which Colorado has plenty - check out Timberline and Poughkeepsie some day). I bought a number of new items for the bike in 2009 anticipating another Colorado 500 ride - but had to sit that one out. I haven’t ridden it - other than to ensure it is still mechanically sound - since August 2008. Which means it’s time to sell it (I’m slowing down a bit and a 50hp trail bike isn’t necessarily in my best interest :-) The bike comes with some street legal additions that were needed to get temporary street permits when riding in the Colorado 500. In states that allow plating a dirt bike this bike is most of the way there (unfortunately, Wisconsin - where I live makes this impossible). The bike is set up for a B level 150 pound rider (me). I’m 5’ 8” tall with a 30 inch inseam. I’ve experimented with lowering the bike. Currently I’ve got a Kouba lowering link in the rear dropping it 3/4 of an inch. A more extreme 1 3/4 lowering link is also included (decided I didn’t need it lowered that far). Softer springs were installed in the forks and shock. This makes the bike much more forgiving on trails with rocks and roots. If you want motocross style jumps, the stock springs will be included with the bike. I’ve had friends weighing over 200 pounds ride the bike and comment on how much they like the suspension - so don’t dismiss the softer springs - you might like them even if you weigh more than I do. Here’s a list of what comes with the bike: IMS 3.2 gallon tank (original tank also included) Revloc automatic clutch (with Hinson clutch basket) Magura rear hand brake Twin air powerflow with sealing ring (much easier to work with than stock filter system) Boysen quick shot carb modification JD Jetting Kit Softer springs (front and rear - original springs included) New Renthal Fat Boy bars (original width - not cut down) New Cycra Pro Bend hand guards TrailTech computer (speedometer) Works connection radiator braces Flatland shark fin Flatland skid plate New pirelli scorpion XC and MC tires New front and rear sprockets and new chain (not currently installed - the original sprockets and chain still have some life in them) Kouba lowering links (two - along with original link) Brake light Electric horn G2 Throttle (softens the hit significantly - nice on the trail) Other assorted odds and ends…
