Vehicle Detail
Classic 1969 Karmann Ghia with some custom touches. 5 year old rebuild on 1776cc dual port motor FAST. 2bbl bugpack carb, EMPI pipes. IRS tranny. External oil cooler. Disc brakes up front. Newer restoration with newer paint (not a perfect clear coat, but still pretty nice) original VW color "granada red". All of the trim is intact. Nice original rims and bumpers. Newer rubber and interior- black dash cover and new dash pad. Newer black headliner, gray carpet, seat upholstery/door panels no tears in any of the upholstery. New starter and master cylinder. Brakes are in good shape with lots of life left in the pads. Runs and drives great. Titled as a '79. I think it was reconstructed before I got it because you can see where the left fender has been replaced if you look underneath, but they did a good job welding it. Oregon title in hand. All electrical works except for clock and the turn signal switch which you have to hold down to make it blink. Had the usual rust under the battery and a small hole in the pan behind the passenger seat. These areas were patched and painted. The left pan has a replacement panel behind the rear seat that was welded all the way around and is rock solid (see last pic). There is a very slight dent in the hood that is only noticeable when you look cross-eyed at it. There are some dimples in the left rear fender, also not easy to see unless you look very close. Otherwise the body is very straight and it's a great classic VW! Link to 50 more pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/103643925643398045893/69Ghia Low reserve, way less than what it's worth. The clearcoat is very glossy, but has "orange peel" that makes the surface look dimpled instead of being perfectly flat. There is also a run in the drivers door about 4 inches long (see linked pics). Looks great at 10 feet or so, but not show car quality. Link to 50 more pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/103643925643398045893/69Ghia Low reserve, way less than what it's worth. Must sell.
