Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This car contains all the famous Ferrari amenities and craftsmanship: The finest Connoly leather, cut pile wool carpet, cloisonne like Scuderia badges on front fenders, transverse 5 speed transmission, all alloy V-8 with stainless steel headers and exhaust system. Custom Momo steering wheel and Ferrari F-40 replica modular 3 piece rims round out the updated features. Engine and 5 Speed transmission are in fine condition, all services are up to date, and car rides smoothly on Koni sport shock absorbers, has new brakes and Dunlop performance tires. Rear are nearly new, fronts are well worn, will need replacing soon. The car should run for years to come with minimal, routine maintenance. Engine is all alloy, sleeved 3.0 litre hemi V-8 with 245hp, Bosch trouble free fuel injection, and stainless steel exhaust system. Red line is 7,800 rpm. It is the only 4 place convertible ever built by the Ferrari factory, and has appreciation potential. This car is a late 1985 model, when the body was changed from the rather clumsy black rubber bumpers, to the European/Testa Rossa style front and rear bumpers. The paint scheme is done the Italian way, without the blacking out of the lower doors and under bumper spoilers front and back. The car has 89,000 miles on the clock. It has been reasonably well maintained throughout its life. This car has been in storage for the last 4 years due to a divorce. The heating and A/C does not work, and has not for the 9 years I have owned the car. It runs very well, but has a few maladies typical with this engine, which remain even after numerous visits to the shop and $$$. It stumbles for 10 seconds or so during cold starts until it warms up. It occasionally does not restart easily when fully hot (cool for 15 minutes and all is well). Second gear is balky until the transmission warms up, typically about 5 minutes. This is very typical for the 3.0 series cars. This is a very nice, sleek, and attractive vehicle in good condition. It is a head turner wherever it goes. Issues: There is some rust on the right rear light panel, one bubble has gone through the metal. I'm not sure what could have caused them, other than the fiberglass insulation blanket getting wet for a long period of time in storage. The car has hardly ever been in the rain. The black spots on the section between the rear seats is the leather splitting, probably moisture damage from storage. The rest of the leather is soft and supple. There is a tear on the top of the instrument binnacle in front of the driver seat. It is easily repairable. I have a sheet of tan auto leather, with Ferrari tan leather dye, which I will be happy to include. The dash is vinyl, but the leather can be cut, glued, and dyed black, or the tear could be taped. The pictures in shutterfly show these items clearly. I spent over $6,500 tuning and fixing items after I got the car back, and would rather the new owner fix the remaining cosmetic items as he sees fit. I added at considerable expense ($4,000) the "FFW", or Ferrari Fast Windows, aftermarket winder accessory. They are the best operating windows I have ever experienced in a Ferrari (I have owned a number of them)! I always drive with the top down, so it is imperative the windows work well, and they rarely do in these cars. Slow and inconsistent. Not any more! They work great as does the car. See more pictures at: ferraripicsjoye.shutterfly.com. If any questions, please email. The car is being sold as is where is, no warranties express or implied. Please note that the Score ebay uses to rate the car is far higher than most Ferrari's listed. The data and history is absolutely accurate and there have been no issues of that sort for this car ever. It is a safe buy for a discerning enthusiast! I require bidders to have feedback, I prefer 5 or more. Lots of scammers out there. Thanks.
