Vehicle Detail
HEY! this vehicle has a 258 inline six, which i was told is the original engine. i dont know why ebay says it has a 4 cylinder, but i cant change it now. again: a 258 inline six, ok? now... i'mselling my CJ7 due to a sudden change in my domestic situation. this was gonna be my forever jeep, but sometimes sh*t happens. there is NO RESERVE on this jeep. i'm starting it at 2500 bucks which is a STEAL and is the least i will take. the buy it now price of 3500 is still a helluva deal! if you're a jeep guy you know a rust-free CJ is like a unicorn... a pretty idea, but they dont really exist. this one's close though. the only rust-through i found is pictured. it's a smaller than dime size spot right next to a floor plug on the driver's side. that's it. there's quite a bit of surface rust on the drivers floor, and other spots of surface rust here and there, but i've looked and as far as i can tell, that one little hole is the only perforation. frame seems totally solid with no cracks or repairs i can find. the jeep is red and i spoze she could use a fresh coat of paint, but i liked her as-is. most of the floor and interior is still a nice shiny red as you can see in the pics. the bad news under the hood is that the stock 258 is getting pretty tired. she fires right up and runs good, but there are oil & fluid leaks here and there as you'd expect from an unrestored 27 year old jeep. the good news under the hood is that some of what you'd probably want to do is already done: weber carb, rebuilt head, and a heavy-duty cast aluminum valve cover. transmission is the factory (as far as i know) 5-speed, which shifts through all five gears just fine. clutch feels strong. diffs are factory originals and seem solid. axles too. tires are like-new 31-10.5-15 BFG KM2 mud tires, which have been siped for better ice traction, and are on pretty good aluminum brakes are weak. they are fine for relaxed gradual stops, but emergency or panic stops are out of the question. everything except the master cylinder and power booster has been gone through and fixed or replaced, so this shouldn't be much of a fix for a decent shade tree mechanic. seats are original as far as i know and are in pretty good shape... no holes or tears in the front seats, one hole all the way through the back of the back seat. windshield is pretty good, with a couple of small bullseye chips and no cracks. all the rest of the glass is in great shape with no holes or cracks. hardtop is in real good shape as are the doors, though the doors do have those cracks just below the wings that nearly every CJ7 has. it's repairable but doesn't effect the function of the doors in anyway, so i just rocked it as-is. i'm currently running bare steel floors. i have the full snap-in carpet set but it needs a good cleaning, it'll go with the jeep, as will the plastic center console. if you're a jeep guy then you know you could buy this for the buy it now price and get half that back by selling the hard top & doors! let's see... what else... fuel gauge doesn't work, speedo, oil pressure and voltage gauges do. wipers work, washer doesn't. heater and heater fan are there and functional. all the outside lights and signals are totally functional. no radio. any question be sure and ask BEFORE you bid. i require a 500 dollar deposit via paypal within 24 hours, balance to be paid via paypal or cash in hand within 72 hours. if you're local and wanna come see the rig before you bid, contact me and i'll reply asap. no joy rides though. i'll start her up and give you a ride and that's about as far as i'll go. this cj is for sale as and where is. shipping is on you, but i'll cooperate in any way i can to help the shipper YOU arrange for pick her up. i've soldthree vehicles and one harley on ebay, and shipping has never been a problem, so it must be pretty easy to arrange. one more thing: this is NOT a rust bucket or a parts vehicle, ok? this is a very restorable vintage jeep and she deserves a good home. please dont buy my baby if you're gonna part her out, ok? thanx!
