This bike was well maintained and running well until she was put away at the end of the riding season a few years ago with the intention of changing the chain and exhaust. Unfortunately work, family and life got in the way and she pretty much sat in the garage and has not been used in years. The 84 XR250R is a great bike, even today. She is a 249 cc single cylinder engine with dual carbs and CDI ignition. Lots of fun on the trails, can be used on the streets and capable of keeping up with many of the newer bikes. The dual carb setup used for many years on this model provides lots of power, and overall this is a very reliable bike. Pictures were taken Sunday with and without body work to show frame and engine condition. Bike rolls easy and had good compression feel. Although she has been sitting, this bike looks and feels like she is in great shape. She kicks over easily, and does have compression. There is a slight amount of surface rust only on a few parts, mostly the kickstand, but nothing that would not come out with steel wool and elbow grease. The airbox and a box of other spare parts are included as well. Seat cover has been chewed up, but it is not broken. Rear Shock in good shape. Headlight in good shape. Front mounted oil cooler in good shape. This could easily be a weekend project. Clean the bike and carbs, change spark plug, ad just a few thing and she should run. I really wish I had the time but family commitments have changed priorities. Bike is in Santa Monica. Sold as-is with Bill of Sale.
