Vehicle Detail
Offered here for your consideration is my Triumph TR4, which I purchased for restoration. I have other obligations which require me to now sell. It is essentially complete with the exception of a few small bits like grill lights and a few Triumph letters, all of which are readily available inexpensively. It is VERY SOLID as seen EXCEPT the drivers side rocker and lower front fender. The lower section of the driver's side front fender CANNOT be seen well in the photo due to picture angle taken since it is parked next to another car, so I am disclosing that it has a rust hole, which can be repaired by welding on a lower fender patch panel available from TR parts suppliers since this is common. Or, I HAVE a NEW front fender which I will INCLUDE for only an additional $400, and it has a retail cost of $1200! It is an original equipment specification part MADE IN ENGLAND. You will need a rocker panel, outer and inner, easily obtainable from most suppliers at a cost somewhere between $100 and $150 depending on who you obtain it from. This is a common repair and very straightforward by any bodyshop. The driver side door is solid, but needs some repair from an old dent. I checked the passenger side rocker, inner and outer, and they appear to be very solid and NOT RUSTED out. The front glass has a crack. The frame was inspected and appears to be very solid with surface rust typical on cars that have been sitting in a barn for years. LOOK at the rear quarters and top rear deck, where if they are rusty cars, this area will be rusty. Very solid! Factory chrome strip still in place. (Knowlegeable TR enthusiasts know this is the critical area to check). Even the floorboards are solid. I DO HAVE the center console. No spare tire. The ENGINE TURNS! Appears to have been rebuilt at some point...note paint on long block. I have not tried to start it. That will be your moment of excitement, when she fires up! LOOK under the hood...front inner fenders at top are NOT WRINKLED and NOT RUSTY! You can't often find one that has not been crashed or rusted at the attachment points. EXCELLENT here. I had my first TR4 in 1977, and have had several since then. I know this one will make a nice one. An Easy restoration. She'll probably fire up with a day's tinkering or less, and be on the road with some typical hydraulics. (You know the routine if you've had a TR before!) It will be worth it in FUN! I need a $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of auction end. I am selling it in as is condition as I cannot warranty an old car. I do know of a reasonable shipper if you want a quote, and I will assist with arrangements and loading. Good luck!
