1956 Chevrolet 2 Dr Hardtop Up for auction is what remains of this piece of America Racing History. Some where up thru the 70's, I was told this car was used on Saturday night's roundy round racing. This would make a great rat rod gasser. The center of the hood has a homemade scoop and pins hold the hood in place. The frame appears solid and the rolling chassis looks complete with steering and a-arms in place. Radiator support has been cut, like some of us did to replace the engine quickly back in our misspent youth. The original transmission frame ears are in place. The steering column is automatic and the firewall has not been beat up. Even the cowl seal is still there. Obviously, this car NEEDS TOTAL RESTORATION in the form of rockers, lower quarters, floor pans, braces, etc. I was planning on putting it back together as a rat rod gasser keep the sponership name and clear coating over the patina surface but there is never enough time. The back wheels have that personal touch where they used a adjustable wrench to flare out the bottom 4" for wider tires. The right side of the dash under the speaker bezil has been cut away for whatever reason. Included with the sale of the car is a second complete dash, misc parts such as a hard top rear seat, front grill, hood bar, light buckets, rear arm rests, right side vent window, left & right quarter window and frame and quarter side panels with the stainless trim. The side stainless that is on the car is mostly in good shop with the exception of one ding in the right rear quarter Last driver according to the roof was name "Cheeseburger" The car spent most of it life in the Topeka, Kansas area. It is not part of the 56 2 dr hardtop photos. Seeing as how I can just about get to Ebay, my wife does the computer part of Ebay but she knows as much about cars as I know about computers so thats how the picture was included. However, I will be listing it on Ebay at a future date.
