Vehicle Detail
You're looking at a 1965 honda CB160. I bought it in 04 and in 07 had the carbs rebuilt and the tank cleaned and coated inside. I rode it to town a couple of times (5 miles) but it seemed to be leaking oil onto the points and misfiring; probably the seal at the end of the camshaft- an easy fix. Fall turned to winter and I lost interest in the project. I haven't had it running since. Here are the details as I see them. All parts are there to redo this one into a show piece or just make a nice daily rider. Tires: Both have tread. Front has alot. Rear has about 1/8 in the center. Both are old and have some weather checking but hold air. Wheels: Some rust pitting but still mostly shiny. Side Covers: A couple of small dents needing minor body work Fenders: Front has damage to leading and trailing edge needing some body work or another fender. Rear has no damage. Tank Side Covers: Some light pitting and a couple of small dings. Looks like some polish would take some of the pitting out but they aren't perfect. Look great from 6 or 8 feet away. The rubber pads are in great shape. The one emblem that I have is junk but they are available on Ebay. Seat: Recovered before I got the bike. A nice job with no wrinkles, cracks, or tears. Turn signals: All present and I believe they work. Starter: The switch is broken and I don't know if the starter works or not. Kicks over and starts easily without electrics. Pipes and Mufflers: Some pitting on mufflers and rust on the dowmpipes but they are solid and tight. A half moon gouge where the kick starter was rubbing. I put a new lever on and it doesnt hit any more. Engine: 13511 Miles. Ran a couple of years ago and would probably start up with a battery. It seemed tight and didn't smoke. Engine parts need repolished and cleaned up but no scratches or gouges. Battery is junk. All in all its a fairly nice example of an early small Japanese bike. it has not been running since 2007. I've tried to cover most everything as completely and honestly as I can. . If you have any other questions please email. The bike can be picked up in Iowa just North of the Quad Cities about 5 miles off I80. If you're not too far away there is a possibility we could work something out on delivery. Bike is sold as is where is with no warranty unless other arrangements are made. Thanks for looking.
