This is a great car, in good driving condition with no major mechanical problems. !! This is a No Reserve Auction!! The Car is a 1999 Volvo S80 Top of the Line Model with Medium Miles. The color is an Iridescent Silver that is probably the most beautiful of the Volvo colors and has no fading. The engine is a 2.9 Non Turbo Model and does not have the fast acceleration of the turbo, but it can be driven very economically. If you pay attention to the Gas Flow Meter, you will see the the car can be driven in the high 20's to low 30 MPG range, that is just a little less than those Japanese Tin Cans, and with a whole lot more style, class, and comfort. The interior is equal to any of the European Luxury cars. The Volvo is unparalleled in safety. In addition to the standard driver and passenger air bags that most cars have, this car comes equipped with side impact air bags and inflatable curtains, both front and rear, also whiplash protection is build into the front seats. To aid in traction control the car has anti-lock breaks, and stability traction control, which can be switched on or off. The front seats have all the conveniences that most high end cars have, electric up-down, forward-back, reclining, lumbar, heating, and 3 memory positions. The passenger seat is electric also which was an option. Also included in the interior are power windows, Factory installed alarm system, and cruise control that is controlled from the steering wheel. The console has the usual cup holders and a large and small storage compartment with a coin holder. The rear seats have a large center arm rest with retractable cup holders and an eating or writing table. The two head rests can be folded up manually or lowered remotely from the front seat with a switch on the dash. The trunk is spotless, appears as new, and contains the original jack, spare tire, and tools. Also, something I find extremely helpful when grocery shopping, a retractable cargo net, to keep the bottles and milk cartons from scattering all over. The trunk in this car is one of the largest I have ever seen, and can be expanded into the passenger compartment by lowering the rear seat backs, to nearly double the size of the trunk! There is also a small, center located, access to the trunk behind the fold down arm rest, for the transporting of very long but narrow items such as 2x4's, ski's, etc. The high quality factory sound system will play cassettes, also there is a CD player which will hold up to 4 Discs, and the radio, which will store many stations in memory, and can be controlled from the steering wheel. The sun roof is the only item on the car that is inoperable, but the curtain can still be opened and closed manually. I have been told that the probable cause is the motor/control and that it is not particularly difficult or expensive to replace. I think that you will likely agree with me when I say the S80 is comparable to the best of the European cars in luxury, quality, and dependability. This particular car has been very reliable, and is exceptionally clean inside and out. It has been well cared for and will give its new owner many miles of pleasant. economical, dependable service. Since I bought the car I have replaced the oxygen sensors (all 4) and replaced the spark plugs with platinum plugs, the oil has been recently changed. This car starts fast and runs smooth, never overheats, the air is ice cold, the transmission shifts smoothly, all accessories except the sun roof operate, tire wear is at 50%, and fuel economy is exceptionally good for a heavy car. The interior is all leather, there are 2 keys, 1 with the remote access features, the owners manuals are included as well as the Haynes repair manual.
