This tired wagon needs to go to a new home. I haven't driven it in several years, and I would rather it go to someone who can use it either for a project or for parts on their own project - I don't want to send it to the scrapyard. AMC parts are just too hard to find. The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly AMC RAMBLER AMERICAN JAVELIN AMX MARLIN CONCORD MATADOR JEEP EAGLE NASH HUDSON KELVINATOR STUDEBAKER PACKARD METROPOLITAN REBEL GREMLIN PACER HORNET First, the Ugly: - Body rot in the wheel wells, doors, and rear gate, and some under the hood. - Front driver's side floor has rot. - Front seat upholstery has a split - Rear window broke and is plexiglas (More on that under "The Good") - I really do not know the actual mileage - the speedometer cable was broken when I bought it, and I drove it for a while before I could locate a replacement cable. The Bad: - Not started in about 7 years, but engine is NOT seized (I turned it by hand this evening). - rear main seal leaks like a 8@$+@rd - fill the tank, add a quart... - AM radio MIA, 8Track in aftermarket console on driveshaft tunnel. - Four-wheel manual drum brakes (ABS is for SISSIES - LOL!) - Antenna need replacement. The Good: - I got a whole load of parts about ten years ago from a car on its way to the scrapyard, including: all the parts necessary (except for tubing) to convert from manual drum brakes to power front disc, and I purchased NIB calipers w/ pads, Door windows and frames, various interior parts, trim parts, interior door panels, vent panels & parts, rear compartment jump seat parts, LEFT & RIGHT TAILLIGHTS, and more(More photos of parts are available on request); - I got the rear gate from the donor car with an INTACT REAR GLASS WINDOW; - I had subframe connectors installed about a year after I got the car to stop the body flexing; - I installed a rear anti-sway bar, so it doesn't COMPLETELY wallow in turns; - I always put in a gallon (or two if the tank was really low) of Sunoco Purple race gas every fill-up, to keep lead in the gas and protect the valves; - I changed the banged-up stock 14-inch steel rims to 15-inch aluminum Lincoln rims. I never changed the center cap logo, though... - There are two (2) new zero-miles rear drums installed, which cost me $90 each. It does have the "Drive-In Theater" front split bench seat. This was my daily driver for about 7 years. I took over my father's car when he stopped driving, and had every intention of fixing this one up.Then I bought a house... 'nuff said... I had a lot of fun at car shows with this, pulling into the lot between some really nice show cars, and I would completely piss off the guys around me because people would come up to my ho-hum wagon and go "I haven't seen one of those in AGES! How Cool is that!" etc etc, and they'd totally ignore the NICE cars around me... Hopefully someone can do that - I finally admitted to myself I'll never get that done. Paint it brown and put "L.A. County Coroner's Office" on the front doors - it'd be Quincy's car! I will not ship. Winner needs to show up with either a car trailer with winch or come-along, or a flat-bed. Winner responsible for transportation costs. Vehicle sold As-Is, Where-Is, with no warranty. Vehicle must be picked up before Memorial Day Weekend. If it is absolutely necessary to go beyond that, please let me know BEFORE you BID! I will not accept wired payments for 5 times the actual winning bid to arrange international shipping and get caught in some sort of financial scam - don't waste my time or yours. Scam someone else.
