We purchased this car from a private owner one state over from us for my son for college. We were pretty much ripped off!! I am going to be honest about everything my local mechanic told us and not do the same thing to someone else. The car has a bent rod in the area of the number 1 cylinder and needs a new motor. The car runs good, the check engine light is not on, it is just a little slow when you go to take off. We drove it home from around 2 hours away with no issues. We just went to have the car checked over before my son took off to return to college and were informed of the bad news. There is also some muffler issues that you can hear when the car is started that the seller told us was nothing serious that would not have to be taken care of soon. Our mechanic informed us it would probably be around $400.00 to repair. The sunroof also does not work. The seller did inform us that he replaced the water pump, timing belt and heads around 5000 miles ago. There is a good timing belt still in the trunk. We had an oil change done and a new fuel filter installed before the mechanic found the major problem. The body and interior of the car are in good shape. The body does not have any dings or dents. The car will start right up and it has a remote car starter. I would be a good car for someone who knows how to work on cars. We also have a second set of tires with rims that you can see in the pictures in the back seat for an extra $250.00 if the winning bidder is interested. If the winning bid is $1,250.00 or higher the tires will be thrown in. The car books on NADA for $5,175.00 and Kelley for $4,495.00. The car would be well worth it for someone who does there own mechanical work. We will only consider reasonable offers as we will have already lost a lot of money with this sale, car will be sold AS IS.
