Presented for auction is a 1966 Chevelle 427 4-speed in excellent, recently upgraded condition. Frame off restoration completed October-November 2009 Powder-coated frame and suspension Tubular suspension front and rear, upper and lower 4 wheel disk brakes (Corvette) All new suspesion components (custom springs and larger sway bar to control body roll) New fuel and brake lines New transmission (Muncie 4 speed close-ratio) and linkage New bell housing, pressure plate, clutch and flywheel New interior including seats, carpet, dash, bezels, headliner, pedal pads, wiring and trims. Factory correct radio and dash All original sheet metal other than hood (hood is the only body panel not original) no rust High performance 396 with standard 427 internals (hyd. lifters), approx. 425 hp. Perfect glass Everything under car is new and powder-coated Fresh 3:73 rear end with new axles and carrier also powder-coated New rally wheels, trim rings, dog bowls and tires Car has less than 50 miles on it since completion Paint is Rally Red and excellent but not concours level Power steering Power brakes Cranks without touching the gas pedal Reliable old-school muscle with modern suspension components (handles like a modern car) Designed to look original but handle modernly with upgraded supsension In 1966 there was no such thing as a 427 SS unless you bought your car new and dropped it off at Yenko or Nickey Chevrolet and had them build it to your specs. This car is a tribute to what you would have expected to get back from Yenko in 1966. There was no such thing as an SS 427 in 1966. So this car is not a true SS 427, it began life as a 1966 Chevelle Malibu. In the interest of full disclosure, we needed to point this out. Some people would not tell you this and you would find out later. This car has not been molested or permanently altered and can be put back to any factory standard from 1966.
