This is a very nice replica of a 1927 Bugatti built with 1971 VW running gear. My father purchased this vehicle in about 1986 and drove it at his lake home. After his passing it sat in my brothers garage for years and wasn't driven. I purchased it in 2003 and did a lot of improvements to it. I rebuilt the engine and replaced everything, the only things reused was the engine case, crank and rods, everthing else was new. Pistons, jugs, bearings, cam, lifters, heads carburator, clutch, pressure, plate, throughout bearing, fuel pump were all replaced with new. I also installed a remote spin-on oil filter and adaptor, since VW's didn't have one. Then I went to the chassis.. all new brake cylinders, new master cylinder, and new brake linings, new front end parts to make the steering perfect. It also has a brand new battery and voltage regulator last year and we drove it only one time. I had great time driving the car on warm summer days and put about 500 miles on it total. In the last 15 years I have owned Corvettes, 3- 1969 camaro's, (one with a Supercharger sticking up though the hood) & a 1972 Big Block Nova. The Bugatti turned more heads in one week than all of the other cars combined. I have moved to other projects and have only drove the Bugatti once a year for about the last three years, so it just sits and it time to let it go. The paint is good, no cracks in body, it's just in nice shape, but there are some rocks chips on the front of the rear fender. All the gauges work, the horn and the radio too(am), the lights work great for night driving and has great visibility. It also has a electric antenna and interior lights. It starts and runs perfect and can be driven every day weather permitting. Tires are about 90% +. I will help buyer anyway I am able with shipping arrangments.
