Vehicle Detail

PLEASE read my entire listing and view all photos brfore bidding. Up for auction is my 1969 Volkswagen Beetle in absolute beautiful condition. This car has a wonderful history and has been located in Cedartown, Ga. for the last 40 years. I am the 5th owner of this little beauty. The first owner was a lady who owned the car for 7 years. The 2nd owner was a young girl who drove it to Shorter college in Rome, Ga., which is just outside of Cedartown,Ga. She kept the car for the next 15 years. She sold it to an elderly gentleman in Cedartown who kept the car for 16 years and just before selling it, completly restored the car form bottom to top. He then sold it to a lady in Cedartown who just bought it for nostalgia and it sat in her garage for 3 years before I purchased it. All the owners have taken wonderful care of this little beauty. Allways keeping it well maintained and garaged. This car was not restored from a rust bucket as most are. It was in fantastic condition with absolutly no rust before bringing it back to new again. I've spent $1200.00 just putting the final touches on it. It's very rare to find a classic Beetle with the engine in it that came from the factory. This car does have the original 1500cc single port engine in it that came in the car from Germany. For the VW enthusists the seriel number if the engine is( H5821493 ). This VW even has the rare option of" pop out" rear quarter windows. This gives a lot of extra ventalation. The repaint was the original color code L 60 B which is called Peru Green. The interior was replaced back to code 46 Cream White., and the carpet color is Oatmeal. This little girl drives out just like she just rolled off the assembly line. No rattles, tracks perfect, and no oil use whatsoever. Not even the normal drip in the driveway which they are noted for. The only thing that is not original to the car is a 200 watt Kenwood CD reciever which is mounted under the dash. No cutting was done to install this. It removes with two screws.(see photos). The speakers are in boxes in the rear luggage well which just lift out. This car is not and never has been boogered up as I call it. It's allways remained original and for that reason will continue to go up in value. Below I will list everything that has been done to the car. 1. The car was disassembled. Fenders removed, all windows removed and interior removed. The car was sanded down to bare metal, primed and repainted original code L 60 B ( Peru Green ). All done by a professional. As you can see from the photos the paint job is beautiful. It lays down as slick as glass. Absolutly no dents, scratches, blemishes or road rash at all. 2. The new headliner was then installed. 3. All interior was reupholstered to factory specs. To include a new dash pad (not the cheap dash cover). New oatmeal carpet. The car also has brand new custom fit mats ( black with oatmeal edging ). She looks and smells like a new VW. 4. At this point all windows were replaced along with new rubber everywhere. Even the window scrapers in the front windows were replaced.(see photos). You don't find many beetles that have had the scrapers replaced as it is quite expensive.( around $450.00). The scrapers are cheap but the labor is expensive as you have to disassemble the doors completly do replace them. All windows are as new. No scratches, milking or sand scratches on the front windshield. 5. The car was then reassembled with all new fender welping and new rubber seals everywhere. 6. At the same time all the above was being done, the engine was removed and gone through from top to bottom. Pistons, heads, rings, seals. The whole nine yards. Before reinstalling, a new clutch, preasure plate, and throwout bearing were installed. Also new clutch cable and throttle cable. And a new German made muffler with new exhust tips. She runs like a pure dream. 7. All new chrome was installed on the car. Bumpers, body side molding lights etc. 8. All the electrics on the car operate as brand new. Blinkers, (they also cancel as they suppose to), High and low beam headlights, back up lights, brake lights running lights, emergency flashers, dome light, dash lights and horn. When I installed the Kenwood stereo I also installed a 12 volt outlet, mounted on the side of the stereo unit (see photos), so you could use your GPS, cellphone, and your ipod. 9. Both transaxle boots have just been replaced. The front end has also just been gone through with new ball joints upper and lower, tie rod ends and steering damper. She drives tighter than new. 10. The little car drives and shifts through the gears as it did when new. And absolutly no vibration at all in the drive trane. 11. All brakes have just been replaced to include shoes, wheel cylinders, all new brake lines and hoses. Also all new wheel bearings. The emergency brake also works perfect. 12. Running boards are new. 13. All rims were sandblasted and repainted factory silver. New tires , hubcaps and beauty rings were installed. 14. The floorpans on the car are all original and in the same shape that they were when they left the factory. They are as solid as a rock as are the heater channels. The heat will burn you out.( Sorry no A/C ). 15. I also have the owners manual that came with this car.( Not a reproduction.) 16. I'm 65 years young and I'm sure I've left something out, but this is 99% of it I'm sure. PLEASE READ THIS NEXT PARAGRAPH. I do have a clear Georgia title signed and notorized by the 2nd owner. The purchaser information was left blank and never filled out by the 3rd owner as in Georgia you don't need a title on an antique car to register the car and obtain a tag. This is also true in most states: Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, New Jersey, Vermont, New York just to mention a few. If your state requires a title on a 41 year old vehicle, the notorized open title that I have may work for you. Please check the laws in your state before bidding. I have bought and sold eleven of these little beautys since I retired 3 years ago and this one has got to be the nicest one yet. Needless to say you can drive this VW any where your heart desires or be mighty proud to take it to any show. There are no downsides to the car at all and that's why none are listed. The price I'm asking, I think is very, very fair. If you have ever restored a car you know it's not a cheap undertaking. If you watch ebay, you'll see that folks are asking $4000 to $5000 for these VWs and they need a total going through. This car needs nothing at all. My reserve price is several hundred dollars less than my "buy it now" price. If you have any further question you can email me through ebay or phone me at 706-736-3972. If you want to test drive the car or come by and take a look see, call me for an appointment. A $500.00 nonrefundable deposit will be due at auction end payable through paypal and the balance will be due within 7 days of auction end payable in cash or cashiers check. If you have less than 5 feedbacks or negative feedbacks, please contact me before bidding. Shipping or pick up will be the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. I will assist any way I can. There's no doubt in my mind that the winning bidder will be perfectly satisfied with this VW. PLEASE READ MY FEEDBACK AND BID WITH ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE. Thanks for taking the time to read my long listing. I do like people to know what they are purshasing and bidding on. Thanks again and great luck bidding. I'm sure the odometer has been around at least once.On May-05-10 at 05:18:49 PDT, seller added the following information:Also just before putting the car on ebay I had the oil changed, new plugs, timed and valves adjusted.
