Vehicle Detail

1952 GMC ½ Ton The truck I have for sale is an original Western Missouri truck. This truck originated in Cuba MO. until it was brought back to Saint Louis for a complete restoration. The truck was a great find because of its rust free condition and the fact it marked the 50th year for GMC. These older GMC / Chevrolet trucks seem to be getting harder to find, especially ones like this one with complete numbers matching drive train still intact. There are quite a few differences between the two also. The GMC is a much nicer truck in my opinion. The frame is much stouter due to the fact they used a thicker gage metal on all GMC trucks. The engine is also a much better design and has a much quieter sound than the Chevy’s. This is due to the fact Chevrolet at the time only offered the 216 low-pressure babbet engine, which later was replaced by most people with the 235. The GMC on the other hand had a standard 228 high-pressure engine, which also had a lot more power. The 52’ & 53’ trucks have much simpler look also, this is due to the fact they have little to no chrome or trim. This was because of the shortage of trim during the Korean War. As far as condition now, the truck has been completely restored from top to bottom. This did not just consist of a cosmetic restoration either. The drive train was taken apart and completely rebuilt with all new parts. As you can see from the pictures this is not a rattle can restoration. Each piece was painted separately and was meticulously put back together to give this truck the attention to detail you seen in the pictures. The Cumberland Blue paint is absolutely beautiful with the ivory trim. The truck at this point drives as well as it looks. The original radio is even still in tact and plays, as it should, AM of course. This is a truck that is sure to appreciate in value as time goes on. Please let me know if you have any specific questions about the truck or the restoration. Auction Rules: I encourage all serious bidders to please come view the truck before you bid. If the option to come in person is not available, I welcome any third party evaluation. I also ask any bidder to please include any other person needed in the buying decision before bids are placed. I am trying to eliminate any problems from bidders after the sale ends. This is a rare chance to own a classic GMC truck, please do not bid if your intentions are not to follow through with the sale. Thank you and good luck with your bidding…
