Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my vintage 1976 Alpha Romeo so I can get my just-turned 16 year old son a more reasonable daily driver. This is a great sports car, a real head turner, which starts and runs great. It has rust on the sideboards and bottom as indicated in the pictures, which is the worst thing about the car. They didn't build these cars to be rust proof and after 34 years the damage is visible, but it isn't as bad as some Spiders I've seen of the same year. The body is intact, solid, rain proof and is a good daily driver. Starts and runs great, but the body needs some work. No major dents or dings, just the rust damage mentioned. The engine and parts are all original. The engine is a 1962CC/132 BHP hoch four cylinder with five speed manual gearbox, new (detachable faceplate) FM/CD/Satelite radio, Tachometer, black vinyle upholstery, black canvas convertible top, fuel injection, wooden steering wheel, dual outside mirrors and newly replaced Michelin black sidewall tires. Physically, the car makes a great first impression. Looking closely at the bottom of the sidewalls however shows the rust damage, which can be repaired to bring this car into near-perfect condition. I've owned the car about five years, and bought it from the original owner. Since I've owned the car, I've had a (refurbished) new gas tank and new brakes (front calipers) installed, along with a major tune up which included new spark plugs, fuel and oil filter, battery and four new tires. Car starts, idles and runs great. It has a lot of pep and can cruise the highways comfortably. The front windshield wipers work, but they need new springs/rubber. The convertable roof works fine and clamps tightly but one of the support bars has come detached from the canvas requiring a manual placement so the roof stretches properly when closed. Look at the pics closely to see all other items. Car is sold as is, and while its a great running machine, with repaired body, this would be a stand out car. A Alpha expert friend of mine suggested using all parts/engine on this car to drop into a non-running perfect body to make a perfect car...that's your call, but that sure would be a fun project. I have a clear title and the paperwork history on this. Also, some branded Alpha seat covers and a car cover are included. Shipping/pick up is buyers responsibility. Good luck bidding!
