RELIST! Due to a buyer telling me he is old to buy the car, it is relisted. He certainly was not too old to bid on it!!! That is a new one... If you have 0 feedback or poor feedback I will cancel your bids. Do not bid unless you have the money and intend on completing the transaction. My personal vehicle! I am a professional auctioneer who has been selling estates and real estate for over 30 years. I am not a car dealer but do enjoy old cars and trucks. Because of my business, I do have the opportunity to sell and buy from my clients. I purchased this woody with the intentions of restoring and street rodding it, but have lost interest in even getting started. Please read my 100% positive feedback on high end items and bid with confidence. I always recommend inspecting in person and will be glad to schedule an appointment for you to see the car in person. It is stored in my garage and was stored by the previous owner for many years. Sold As Is, Where Is, which is how I sell my clients items. Rare 1951 Chevrolet Tin Woody Station Wagon, Original 6 cylinder, manual transmission on column. I believe that the car was painted and mechanically restored by someone in the late eighties or early nineties. The car is solid with no rust through that I can see. I can see some body work on both back fenders. It was poorly done but I think you can buy new panels or do a better job of repairing these. The car has typical dents and dings here and there but nothing that cannot be repaired. As I mentioned, I see no rust through or bubbles that have been rusted through. It has a rare visor and bumper guards. The interior is pretty original but someone has installed a wood headliner to give that woody look. The seats were recovered. I pulled back the carpet and see that someone has installed new floor panels. The underneath of the car is pretty original with mostly dirt and surface rust. No major damage. You can tell it was stored inside, the drip rails are in remarkable condition. Underneath the hood is all original with no core damage or previous impact. I have cranked and driven the car and it runs like a top. It has been sitting in storage for years and I think it could use fresh gas. A little difficult to start today when I took the photos. I believe the drivetrain is fine. It is still 6 volt. Overall I think it is the perfect project to tinker with while you restore the body and paint. A fresh tank of gas and maybe a tune up and you can drive it to the cruise in while you restore her. Since I am an auctioneer and ask my customers to sell their assets "Absolute" to the highest bidder, I have to follow my own advise and sell the woody the same way. No Reserve, No Minimums, No Buy it now price. Highest bidder gets it. Again, I encourage potential bidders to inspect for yourself. The car is not a show car and does need restoration. I have described the car as I see it. I have owned several 1951 and 1952 woodies and they are getting very, very rare. They are a blast to take your family to church or to a show in. Even though the State of Alabama did not title cars before 1976, I do have a clear title in hand. I do sell to buyers out of the U.S. but I will require bank wire transfer. It is the buyers responsibility to ship or pick up but I will assist in any way I can. I have sold to and work with many out of country buyers. Thanks and good luck. On Apr-19-10 at 16:57:02 PDT, seller added the following information: SHIPPING.... To the winning bidder, I am going to provide shipping free of charge regardless of what the car sells for. I have made several good shipper contacts in my auction business and have decided to offer free shipping within the U.S. If you are a out of the Country buyer, I will have the car transported to a shipping port or to the border. Payment must be made in full prior to the car leaving my home. There will be no rebate or refund if you do not need shipping. I am just trying make the transaction easier on the purchaser. Feel free to call me with questions. Chip 205-296-8256 Car sold to the last buyer for $20,000 before he decided he could not pay for it! On Apr-23-10 at 09:21:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I am out of town in Tennessee for my sons college baseball games until Sunday night. I can answer your email questions but cannot get additional photos of the car. There is not buy it now price or reserve on the car. Since I must sell it, the winning bidder wins. Please do not bid if you are not comfortable with the description or terms of the sale. Thanks and good luck!
