Vehicle Detail
1965 Mustang Convertible This is an early Mustang convertible frequently refered to as a 64 1/2 with a C code 289 V8. It has been made to replicate a GT car with the round instrument cluster, GT gas tank filler cover and GT dual through valance exhaust. The engine is topped with an Edelbrock four barrel and backed up by a 4 speed Toploader transmission with factory Ford shifter with reverse lock out. A good runner and driver the engine has the cast iron hipo exhaust manifolds, hipo bellcrank, 3 core radiator, cobra aluminum valve covers, power steering, power top and am/fm radio cassette player. The newly upholstered interior sports a wood trimmed Le Carrera steering wheel, black standard interior, four seat belts and new carpet. The 14 x7 chrome styled steel wheels have red line radial tires with low miles. The front suspension has lowering springs dropping it one inch and rear is lowered using one inch blocks under the axle. Handling is improved with the addition of the Shelby camber change kit and heavy duty sway bars. The front brakes are factory Ford discs and the rear end is 3.55:1 limited slip. Great car with a solid rust free chassis. This is largely a survivor with detailing of the interior and engine compartment. It has a new gas tank and front windsheild. Paint is Poppy Red in fairly good condition but has a number of chips and touch up paint spot applications. Generally this is a rust free survivor with new interior, convertible top, gas tank and windshield. Tires are redlines in good condition. Known issues: shifter needs some maintenance it occasionally locks out forward gears when shifting from reverse and requires some jiggling to free up. The ampmeter does not work. Aftermarket radio does not stay tuned to station but the cassette works fine. Low reserve price! Get into a good driving classic convertible before the summer hits! Please ask questions and I will be available for bidders wishing to make inspections.
