Vehicle Detail

I am offering for sale a very nice vintage 1970 Chevy Impala. I am the second owner of the vehicle and have had it for about 6 months. It is essentially still a one-owner vehicle as I have driven it very little and have had it in the garage since I have owned. It is apparent that this vehicle was very well taken care of. From the condition it looks as if it was only used for trips to/from church and grocery. It was more than likely garaged for most of its life. It has just 48 thousand miles on the original engine! My only reason for selling is that I have set my sights on an El Camino and can’t have two extra vehicles. Interior: The interior is near perfect. It is forest green in color. The seats look to have been hardly sat in. There is absolutely no fading or tears. The same applies to the entire interior dash et cetera with the exception of an ornament, on the front middle of the dash, which is glued on. I have not attempted to remove due to possible damage. All interior/glove box lights work as does the trunk light. The original dealer tag and receipt is included. Exterior: Original paint on the exterior, a light frosted green color, and is for the most part in excellent condition. There are a few small rust spots in areas by the rear wheel wells. The keyholes (trunk and drivers side doors) have a few scratches (looks to be damage from a key chain) that have surface rust. There are also a few small dents that aren’t noticeable and would be easy to fix. All chrome is shiny and in excellent condition. Chrome door guards are excellent. However there are two soft-bodied dents one on the front bumper and one on the rear. The chrome is intact on these dents with no cracking. I’ve tried to include the best pictures of these I could. Overall the body is in excellent, original, condition with no bondo or patching of any kind. The doors close superbly which is a sign of a frame that has never been damaged. Engine/transmission/steering/breaks: There are just over 48 K original miles on the engine. It is a 350 engine. It has a Powerglide transmission. It shifts smooth and drives out great. Power steering. Manual brakes. Tires: There is good tread on the tires. The rear tires are newer radials and the front tires are bias (not sure if these are original). If driving a long distance I would suggest radials for the front due to age of the tires currently on it. There is a spare bias tread tire in the trunk and the original jack. Comes with all original wheel covers, which includes one for the spare tire. There is also a set of mix-matched wheel covers that were used to protect the original wheel covers. Radio: It has the factory AM radio. I can’t get it to work so there must be a fuse or something that isn’t hooked up correctly or at all. There are no rear speakers, or holes cut for them, but these could be added if desired. Conclusion and miscellaneous: Over all this is a fantastic vintage car that is a head turner. It is hard to find cars of this age in such good shape. This car could be brought up to show room condition easily with a little work or could be used as a daily driver. There is no A/C. It was originally purchased without this option. The original dealer tag, owner’s manual and receipt will come with it. It leaks a small amount of oil. I’ve noticed this when it has been sitting in the garage. It is a very small amount though and wouldn’t take much to fix. This vehicle is being sold as is. Please e-mail or with questions. Terms and conditions: A $300.00 deposit is expected within 72 hours of the close of the auction. The remainder of payment is expected within 14 days. Thanks for looking!
