Vehicle Detail
Since many of you will be bidding on this based on my opinion of the vehicle and on my credibility I would like to tell you a few things about me. I have bought several cars through Ebay and I have only had one bad experience and that was my first one. The ad had very little detail and I didn't ask any questions. Since then I buy only when I know for sure what I am getting and I have been very happy with the other purchases. I have sold several vehicles through ebay and have received great feedback. I did however receive negative feedback on a 26 year old RV that when driven back home by the new owners had a faulty voltage regulator and a water pump that broke in the middle of their 1200 mile trip home. The buyer stated on their feedback that it should be looked at by a third party and that I have minimal mechanical knowledge. I cannot tell the future and could not know those items would break after several hundred miles of driving. I still maintain my credibility and would suggest anyone get a third party check on a vehicle. I had up to this point a 100 percent feedback and now it is no longer. Please if you do not feel comfortable bidding then do not bid or get someone else to view it for you. I list a ton of detail so that you know exactly what you are getting and you can feel comfortable about the purchase. I have even had independent people look at the vehicles for the purchaser and those are usually the people who end up winning the bid because they have told me it was exactly as described. If I don't mention a detail that you would like to know about then please ask me and I will get the info to you. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. There is no Buy it Now. I started this auction very low, much lower then what it is worth. I do this because I am confident it will get to a respectable selling price. I also don’t find it much fun bidding on something that has a reserve and not knowing if the vehicle will actually sell. So now everyone knows this car will sell to whoever bids the highest. Much more fun this way and I think it caters to the serious buyers. What you are bidding on is my 1998 Chevy 3500 One Ton Crew Cab Long Box 4X4 truck. This is the Silverado model. This has been taken care of very well. I have had it for two years. I absolutely trust it and would not be selling it if Dave Ramsey didn’t say that I should. I do own it free and clear but we could use the money to destroy some other loans. So I will sell this and drive my 77 Chevy plow truck. This truck is an excellent example of a well cared for truck. It runs flawlessly. It needs nothing! I keep my vehicles in very good shape. This truck has plenty of power to tow whatever you want. You can fly in and drive this truck home. The drive train on this rig is great. It has the 454 Cubic Inch motor and the automatic overdrive transmission. It has 144XXX miles and runs like a top. The engine is clean and shows no sign of slowing down at all. I don’t know the history of if prior to owning it. It appeared to have been well cared for though. I change my oil at 3000 miles religiously. I am not just saying I change the oil every 3000 miles, I really do! It does not smoke, it does not leak and it makes no strange noises. It has all kinds of power. The transmission shifts great and has no problems at all. It does not slip and it does not leak. Both front and rear differentials are great. No leaks and no slips or grinding. It shifts in and out of four wheel drive easily. The 4-low works great too. Everything on this truck works! The suspension and brakes are in great shape. I put in new shocks last year. Rear brakes were done about a year ago. Front brakes were done one week ago. They need nothing. This is an ABS truck. The emergency brake works too. The suspension is very nice for a one ton truck. This is a single wheel axle so it is very good in the snow vs. the dually model. This truck tracks straight down the road. It drives very nicely. The independent front suspension on the front soaks up the bumps good for a truck. The exhaust is in great shape. It is in stock form so it is not loud. It is not rusted out at all. The underside of the truck is also in great shape. It is not damaged or dinged up. The tires are only about 3000 miles old. Just before winter I put new ones on. Tons of tread on these tires. I went with one size taller and one size thinner tire so as to cut into the snow real good since I live on a steep gravel road. It still has the same payload rating with these tires as with the stock size. It only affected the speedometer about 1mph at 70MPH. They are also a 10 ply rating. The spare is the same size with lots of tread too. If you had to change a tire at some point then you should know the truck has all of the stock jack and tire tools with it. The exterior of the truck is in very nice shape. There are no dents and no rust. Very straight and nice metal. The truck is very good looking. The paint has very few flaws. The paint has scratches on the tailgate where the topper rubs against it. The chrome shines nice. It has a brush guard on the front. All of the lights work as they should and all the lenses are in good shape with no broken pieces. The doors, hood and tailgate all close as they should with no sagging or alignment issues. This is simply a very nice truck. The interior of the truck is good. The carpet has some stains but it is not worn through and has a lot of life left. The seats are very nice. There are a few imperfections but no tears just some wear. The dashboard is in great shape. All gauges work as they should. The AC works great as well as the heater. I just had new A/C components put in it last summer and had it charged full. The radio is the stock radio which works just fine. All speakers work great. All interior pieces look great. The center console does not open for some reason and never has while I have owned it. The door panels, seat belts, sun visors and other parts look great. It has the rear sliding window that still locks as it should. The windows are electric and all work great. The power locks work good as well as the window lock button. Seats have lots of support and the driver seat has power lumbar support. Horn works, Wiper washer works and wipers work. This truck just had an oil change, air filter, radiator flush and is ready to go. It has a massive receiver hitch. It also has what I would believe to be a hidden ball in the bed of the truck. I have never used this, but have towed with the receiver and it tows great. Sorry about the photographs. The truck was slightly dirty from the gravel road that I live on. It actually shines very good. I have a clear title in hand. Please ask the questions that I might not have answered already. When people ask if I would trust a vehicle to fly in and drive home I would put it in one of three categories. 1. Needs to be trailered. 2. I would feel comfortable driving it across the United States if you have common mechanical knowledge. or 3. I would trust my wife driving alone at night across the United States in this car. So based on this rating system, I put this in category 3. My wife actually has driven this truck at night across the state. There is no lien on this vehicle and title is good to go. I live in Rapid City, South Dakota. I will assist with shipping but you will need to make arrangements. I have shipped many times using DAS and have had great luck. DAS has been the least expensive that I have found. There is a DAS hub in Aurora Colorado which is the closest one to me. I might be able to get it there for a price and it is something we can talk about. But this is something that would need to be arranged ahead of time and is not a condition of sale unless we talk about it first. I might be able to haul it other places but this again would be something that would need to be discussed ahead of time since I would likely only take it somewhere I would be interested in visiting and on days that work around my career. But, it is a possibility and it won’t hurt to ask. If you are going to use a transport broker I will tell you right now that they will not make it up my driveway as it is too steep and too tight of a turn (many say "door to door" but they will not make it to my house). I can get it to a flat area but will need more than a 15 minute notice to do so. Please understand that I am serious about selling and you should be serious about buying if you bid. I am not interested in trading. Please check my ratings and feedback so you can feel comfortable bidding. Good luck and have fun. The title is clear and in hand. I will sell to Canada or USA.
