I have owned the car for about 5 years now. The swap was done about 3 years ago, the engine was out of a wrecked in the rear, 1995 M3 that a friend owned. When the car was wrecked there was roughly 68,000 miles on it. I have put about 15-17,000 every year since the car has been finished setting the mileage on the engine around 115,000. The car itself should have about 215,000 now on the body. I DID change the gauge cluster with one that I found in a junkyard that had a higher speed on speedometer, higher tachometer, and a working odometer display. The mileage the car currently reads should be roughly accurate to the engine/trans life. The engine is stock on the inside, the head has never been off the bottom end and runs very strong with the few bolt-on power adders that have been installed. This car has been listed before, but did not sell so i decided to keep it another year. Since the last time it was listed, I installed black HEATED seats, door panels and other matching interior parts with BMW wood grain trim. Also comes with 18 inch 745il wheels with brand new Falken 225/40zr18 tires. Since I have owned the car all of the steering components have been replaced as well as all strut mounts, control arms, flex disc, sway bar links and center support bearing. With everything that is done to the car, it still get 22mpg driving to and from work (half city/ half highway driving). The A/C blows cold and was converted to R134A when the swap was done. This car has done road trips with no problem since the swap. Gone from MD-FL and from MD-ME. Along with all the good there does come the bad. The rear doors do not unlock with the key in the drivers door like it should from factory (but they do unlock manually from inside). The motor in the passenger side mirror does not work anymore. The passenger side front window goes down in one motion, but does not go up when you hold the button up. It does go up, but you have to press and release the button about four separate times. I have checked the regulator and the switch, but can not figure out the issue. The headliner is falling down and last but not least the tires rub very little when the wheels are turned all the way to the left or right when I am backing out of a spot.
