Solid, low milage F-250 Super Duty! Former Animal Control, now owned by an Animal Welfare Non-Profit. YOU JUST WILL NOT FIND ANIMAL CONTROL TRUCKS USED WITH MILES THIS LOW! Animal control agencies typically drive these into the ground and only sell them at 250,000+ miles, when they are totally worn out! If this is a vehicle you need, you will be hard pressed to find a better used one than this! We bought this vehicle at the beginning of 2018 to transport our dogs from Sierra Madre, CA (near Pasadena) to Hollywood for weekly events. About a 15 mile trip one way. The rear "box" for the animals has 5 animal bays, and 1 storage bay. The large animal bay has an internal door so it can be divided into 2 bays. Two of the bays have a shelf, so they have two spaces. Thus, at max there are 8 separate compartments for animals. In other words you can transport 8 animals in the rear, each in their own space. We have transported 11 dogs in this truck, doubling one compartment and letting two ride in the cab. We would say this vehicle can easily transport 8-12 dogs. Two of those dogs can be large dogs. The truck has a supplemental rear AC unit for the rear that blows cold. It also has supplemental heat. We have made the following improvements: - Rear back-up camera installed - Carpeting added to animal bays (can easily be removed) - Re-keyed all animal doors to open with the same key - Mechanically we have tuned the engine, replaced the battery, fully charged the AC system, etc.... This truck runs solid, and shifts strong. We are selling this truck because we no longer need to transport 6-10 dogs at a time, but 3-5. As such we are using a smaller Ford Transit and a regular Honda SUV. We just do not need this vehicle any more, and as a small non-profit we need the money in the vehicle for other purposes. Vehicle has been regularly maintained by a local mechanic who we are happy to put you in touch with. I would drive this vehicle with no hesitation to San Diego or San Francisco today.
