Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback equipped with the original J code 302 4 barrel engine, 4 speed transmission, and 9" 3.25 geared rearend. This car has been in storage since the early 1990's. The car starts, runs and lot drives but needs total restoration. A new fuel pump and hose was installed to get it running again, and shows good oil pressure. The driveline is all original including the carb and engine tags! (Pictured) It has a Shelby style trunk lid, quarter extensions, side scoops along with center fog lights that all was installed many years ago. It is optioned with an 8000RPM tach, fold down rear seat, chrome GT style wheels, and turn signal hood. Traces of the original "C" stripe are still apparent in the door jambs. This is a great restoration project that is mechanically original right down to the factory air pump assembly! The body appears to be in solid condition, with the doors closing good with no sag. Floors are there, and original carpet is in place. I am sure once the car is disassembled and blasted, there will be floor and undercarriage work needed to make it as new, but Mustang enthusiasts know the parts to restore these vehicles are readily available and reasonably priced. If you don't have the skill or availability to have the car restored, please don't waste either of our time. To be fair, expect to do a ground up restoration on this vehicle. You cannot get in it and drive it home. It runs and I have moved it under its own power, but it has sat for years and would not trust the condition of the fuel and braking systems. I'm not trying to scare people away, I just want a good understanding of the cars condition. It is sold as-is, with no warranties.Finding a basically unmolested, complete Mustang GT Fastback has become extremely difficult, and with values constantly rising, is one of the best classic automotive investments you can make. Bidders with under 10 transactions need to contact me before bidding, or the bid will be removed.International bidders are welcome! I will help with loading to make it easier.
